Owners Bruce and Melanie Rosenbaum of ModVic (Modern Victorian Home Restoration) have graciously agreed to allow their celebrated Steampunk Home to be included in the Sharon Historical Society’s 2010 Old House Tour. The Steampunk House is so named because of the of the remarkable modern Victorian gadgetry and inventions found throughout.
When steampunk first came out, it was a simple excuse for me to indulge in my own version of what an alternate world without electricity might have been. And in this world, I like to imagine that Art Nouveau is a bigger part than Victorian. Steampunk writers, if you want to immerse yourself in fantastical design in the art and furniture world, you could certainly draw some inspiration by studying the furniture of Carlo Bugatti. Эстонский дизайнер и скульптор Mati Karmin пошёл ещё дальше, и представил коллекцию мебели из морских мин. Мины настоящие, с выплавленной по всем правилам взрывчаткой. Из них сделаны: ванны , письменные столы , кресла, круглые камины (особенно хорошо смотрятся) и даже детская коляска.
