Being back on the ground in Indonesia reminded me how much I really love traveling to places like Bali, Cambodia, and Laos, with very high exchange rates to the US Dollar. Who doesn’t love to look at the ATM screen and see balances in the several millions? According to today’s exchange rates, if you trade in 1 US Dollar you’ll get 4,005 Cambodian riel . That means that if you have $250 in the bank, you’re a millionaire in Cambodia. Of course economics, exchange rates, and cost-of-living are things that are constantly in flux, changing all the time, but for now Asia is where it’s at. The biggest corporations all flock here to keep their expenses down, and smart individuals are doing the same.

Yesterday's The New York Times Magazine looked at the brief history and evolution of the Candela in Light Switch ... We read with interest how the innovators of Candela — the Boston-based design firm Vessel — expanded into the child-centric Candeloo (recently re-named Tooli) and the barbeque-friendly Luau . Expect to see a lot more of the various Candela products as they were recently purchased by Oxo , who now manufactures and more aggressively distributes the growing line.

http://decor8blog.com/ I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the color blue. In my work studio, I have lots of bright colors set against a white, neutral background because it inspires me to mix in color according to my mood, removing those that may not be particularly rockin’ my world at the moment. Currently, I have lots of yellow, orange, red and pink in my studio but a few days ago a more moody mix of emeralds and indigos started to creep in. Darker tones of blue on the bed paired with brighter ones throughout the room, like light blue walls, make moody blues less so, via: Anthropologie
