Box.net , a popular cloud-based file storage and content management service, has raised $81 million in funding to take on Microsoft, Oracle, IBM and others in the enterprise space. Box.net also announced the launch of the Box Innovation Network (/bin), a program to create a new ecosystem for enterprise applications, specifically mobile apps. Bessemer Venture Partners and NEA led the funding round. In addition, SAP Ventures and Salesforce are participating as strategic investors. Previous investors Andreesen Horowitz and Draper Fisher Jurvetson also participated in the Series D expansion round. "We need to provide an amazing experience for the 100,000 businesses already using Box, including 77% of the Fortune 500, while growing our global user base at an unprecedented pace," co-founder and CEO Aaron Levie said in a blog post.

IFTTT launches Belkin WeMo Switch and Motion integration, site redesign | The Verge
IFTTT, or "If This Then That" , has undergone a major site overhaul. In addition to an updated graphic design, the rule-based automation website features new channels, Quick Triggers, and now supports Belkin's WeMo Switch and Motion detector. The service allows you to trigger actions on one online service by using the inputs of another. For example, you can tell IFTTT to watch your Facebook wall for any images your friends tag you in and then to automatically back them up to a Dropbox folder. With IFTTT's new support for Belkin's WeMo accessories, however, automations can be triggered by and send commands to home appliances. Users can now program IFTTT to send text message notifications when certain devices are turned on or use the service to remotely turn household items off.
