Even though I have a handheld GPS, I always carry a Green Trails map for the area I’m exploring–and most the time thats what I refer to; I just like seeing where I am on a bigger “screen” than the GPS provides. Green Trails maps are much clearer, more up to date & more accurate than the USGS Quads. They’re also a local Seattle company.
