The PICNIC 2011 Festival tech expo was a three full days of information, inspiration, collaboration, co-creation and entertainment and a chance for prolonged conversations and development of relationships. One of the tracks, organized together with Amsterdam Living Lab, Fireball, Open Cities and the European Network of Living Labs, was a special day at the focused on the contribution that living labs make in Smart Cities development, showcasing more than 20 presentations, state-of-the-art smart cities projects from the members of the European Network of Living Labs and other interesting initiatives on eHealth, durability and energy, mobility and open data. Tourisme : numérisation de l'héritage culturel. Streaming on i2cat i2cat Foundation, in collaboration with the European Network of Living Labs (ENoLL) and the Citilab, organises a Workshop about Digital Cultural Heritage and Living Labs. Institutions active in the field of Cultural Heritage like museums, foundations, companies, academia, knowledge and innovation centres, public administrations, living labs, are invited to physically or virtually participate in this workshop that aims at bringing together the Cultural Heritage and the Living Labs communities to explore synergies to jointly help the boost of the digital cultural heritage industry, to broadly involve citizens in the transformation of our museums and cultural heritage institutions and in general to explore how innovation in the digitalization of the Cultural Heritage can benefit our society. A 30-month Pilot B action funded by the European Commission under the CIP ICT PSP Programme, PERIPHÈRIA is carried out by a project consortium led by Alfamicro (PT) and made up of 12 partners from 5 EU Member States.
ENoLL is collaborating with the consortium. The objective of PERIPHÈRIA is to deploy convergent Future Internet (FI) platforms and services for the promotion of sustainable lifestyles in and across emergent networks of “smart” peripheral cities in Europe, dynamic realities with a specific vocation for green creativity. Its Open Service Convergence Platform, an “Internet by and for the People”, extends and enhances the Save Energy project’s Social Information Architecture, integrating key new components – sensor networks, real time 3D and mobile location-based services – with the FI paradigms of Internet of Things (IoT), Internet of Services (IoS) and Internet of People (IoP).
