A desire to explore the world is hard to ignore, and for many travelers, as soon as that desire became too strong to be ignored, they simply packed up their backpack or suitcase and took off into the unknown. However, along with that strong desire to travel, there is something else that is needed in order to actually make it all happen. The fact is, you’ll barely make it across your home town if you don’t have at least a few dollars, pounds, euros or yen in your bank account.

Japan, which has taken all but one of its 54 nuclear reactors offline in the wake of the Fukushima disaster, has not indicated that it is planning a permanent shift away from atomic power, said the head of Cameco Corp on Monday. Cameco, a top global uranium producer, has offered to buy excess material from Japanese utilities, but they are not selling, said Chief Executive Tim Gitzel, speaking...DEAR PETER, -- I received, by Mr. Mazzei, your letter of April the 20th. I am much mortified to hear that you have lost so much time; and that when you arrived in Williamsburg, you were not at all advanced from what you were when you left Monticello. Time now begins to be precious to you. Every day you lose, will retard a day your entrance on that public stage whereon you may begin to be useful to yourself.

4 Tools for Teaching Kids to Code
In a recent PC Pro article, Professor Steven Furber, developer of the ARM microprocessor, laments the sharp decline in interest in computer science classes in the UK. And although the U.S. hasn't seen that same drop in enrollment, a recent survey of some 14,000 U.S. high school teachers by the Computer Science Teachers Association found that only 65% of respondents taught in a school that offered some sort of introductory computer science course. As our world becomes more tech-oriented, educators are faced with not just teaching children how to use computers, but how to build and program them as well.Galleria Borghese - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Borghese Gallery (Italian: Galleria Borghese ) is an art gallery in Rome , Italy, housed in the former Villa Borghese Pinciana. It is a building that was from the first integral with its gardens, nowadays considered quite separately by tourists as the Villa Borghese gardens . The Galleria Borghese houses a substantial part of the Borghese collection of paintings , sculpture and antiquities, begun by Cardinal Scipione Borghese , the nephew of Pope Paul V (reign 1605–1621). The Villa was built by the architect Flaminio Ponzio , developing sketches by Scipione Borghese himself, who used it as a villa suburbana , a party villa at the edge of Rome. Scipione Borghese was an early patron of Bernini and an avid collector of works by Caravaggio , who is well represented in the collection by his Boy with a Basket of Fruit , St.I was fortunate to attend Olin College of Engineering with some of the brightest minds in the country, and the bar of achievement was set high. Inside the classroom, we worked on problems that were mind-numbingly complex and intricate. Outside of class, most students aimed to develop incredibly elaborate and technically innovative projects: Robots that swam across a pool like a tuna fish, machines that harvested oranges from a grove, or a new design for a surgical device. The projects I chose to work on during my time as an undergraduate were high-risk/high-reward. I spent many nights using the Electron Scanning Microscope to image the nanostructure of Neluma Nucifera (the common Lilly pad). I was attempting to exploit its nanostructure to construct a material with microsuction properties.

(A philosophical notebook. I only put stuff here from my work in progresss. Once again, I beg you to avoid sending me the list of typos. Not quite my book... but close. And I am not so much anti-Platonic: I am mostly against “Platonicity” which is being a sucker for a Platonic form, at the cost of using the wrong form. Forms are not that accessible to us: I call this Opacity)
