Editors Angela Calabrese Barton and Joseph Krajcik are excited and proud to present the next Virtual Issue for the journal: Multicultural Science Education, Equity, and Social Justice Edited by Mary M.
The Journal of Science Teacher Education is the official journal of the Association for Science Teacher Education. It serves as a forum for disseminating research and theoretical position statements concerning the preparation and in-service education of science teachers. It adds to what we know about science teaching and learning and, most importantly, serves as a catalyst for thoughtful discussion concerning the enhancement of education for science teachers. The journal features pragmatic articles that offer immediate ways to improve conditions in classroom methods, in-service workshops, and teacher recruitment and retention.
Science & Education has been accepted in March 2009 by Thomson Reuters (formerly ISI), for inclusion in the Current Contents/Social and Behavioral Sciences, Social Sciences Citation Index, Science Citation Index Expanded, and the Arts & Humanities Citation Index. Science & Education publishes research using historical, philosophical, and sociological approaches in order to improve teaching, learning, and curricula in science and mathematics. In addition, the journal disseminates accounts of lessons, units of work, and programs at all levels of science and mathematics that have successfully utilized history and philosophy. This journal promotes the inclusion of history and philosophy of science and mathematics courses in science and mathematics teacher education programs. Moreover, it promotes the discussion of the philosophy and purpose of science and mathematics education and their place in and contribution to the intellectual and ethical development of individuals and cultures.
