Read on, stay inspired, and enjoy! Coffee cups are probably my favourite subject to shoot. I love all their different shapes and forms, and I love the light reflecting on the surface of tea or coffee. So, why do not use them to tell a small, cozy story?

1. First of all, we need to make a sketch. I think, the best way to come up with an idea for a shot like this is to think about your character, your hero. Amazon.co. I bought my first macro ring light about a year ago.

I find it very useful to take photos of small things such as hand crafted jewellery or close up photos of flowers. Comparing my old macro ring (by NEEWER) the Bestlight Macro ring has a couple of features that I like better and one thing that I like less. However, the positives are more significant overall. The most significant positive is that this light ring comes with two filters:a frosted white filter and a yellow filter. 48 LED lights of the ring produce fairly white light, so having a filter that can soften it is very helpful in some situations. The second aspect that I like is that it is more compact. There is only one thing I like less than my old ring: the cord that connects the light to the battery is shorter. You will most likely be at a close focusing distance due the small size of a water drop, so depth of field will definitely be a problem, it will be a fine tuning process to get the right aperture for you camera and lens combo. For you reference, my shots are taken at ISO100 with 1/320 sec shutter speed (due to camera sync speed) and at f/32 which gives me a bit more depth of field to work with. Both flashes are on 1/16 power (TTL should also work but if you are using manual flashes, don't forget to increase the power output when you are closing down the aperture). Amazon. Learn.adafruit. What lenses for my digital SLR (Canon)

Many people eager for a high end digital camera buy a digital SLR body and then ask the question of what lens to put on it. Often they seek a wide-range zoom to duplicate what they could do with a point and shoot digital camera. Some have shot SLRs and film before, some P&S film, most P&S digital. A few are new to photography and wealthy enough to start high end. (New: Because people have asked for even more advice, I have prepared an article on what digital camera you should buy. As such, it was expected to spend a fair bit more on your lenses than on your camera body.
