Faviki. Cluztr - What are your friends clicking? Del.icio.us libraries - November 6, 2007 « mélange. This post is continually updated.
A number of reasons: I can store and access my favourite websites from any computer;I can share my websites and comments with friends and those who belong to my del.icio.us network;I can discover new websites by browsing other user’s tags (great for research!) ;I can take advantage of the daily blog posting tool to automatically add new websites to my blog;the ability to display link rolls (my latest bookmarks) and tag clouds to my website;I can syndicate my links via RSS. Lately I’ve been giving some thought to how libraries use del.icio.us. Deli.cio.us to Custom Search Engine. Google Books Overview Page I guess this is old, I just never saw it: when you remove everything but the ISBN parameter on a Google Book Search book page, you’ll end up on a nice overview page.
As an example, the page for my 55 Ways to Have Fun With Google shows the cover, author information, the blurb, select contents available on Google Book Search, related books – this particular book is listed with Free Culture and Pig in the Box, I suppose it’s due to the Creative Commons licensing all of these have –, a “search in this book” box, a buy/ borrow this book box, as well as a list of key terms from the book (in this case, stuff like google, google robot, googlewhack, blog, google maps, robot, google images, pagerank, kevin bacon and googlebomb).
