Das fotografische Werk von Andreas Gefeller umfasst u.a. die Serien »Halbwertszeiten« (1996), »Soma« (2000), »Supervisions« (seit 2002) und »The Japan Series« (2010). The Japan Series entstand im Rahmen des Projektes »European Eyes on Japan« in der Präfektur Tottori. In Supervisions scannt Gefeller in aufwändiger fotografischer Technik die Oberflächen urbaner Räume ab. Für Soma hat der Fotokünstler mit Hilfe von Langzeitbelichtungen eine utopisch anmutende Welt festgehalten. Halbwertszeiten wirft einen eindringlichen Blick auf Menschen und Landschaften in der näheren Umgebung von Tschernobyl − 10 Jahre nach der Reaktorkatastrophe.
Projection is a form of apparition that is characteristic of our human nature, for what we imagine almost invariably transcends the reality of what we live. And, an apparition, as the word suggests, is quite literally “an appearing,” for what we appear to imagine is largely shaped by the imagination of its appearance. If this sounds tautological then so be it. But the work of Stefanie Schneider is almost invariably about chance and apparition. And, it is through the means of photography, the most appari- tional of image based media, that her pictorial narratives or photo-novels are generated. Indeed, traditional photography (as distinct from new digi tal technology) is literally an “awaiting” for an appearance to take place , in line with the imagined image as executed in the camera and later devel- oped in the darkroom.

Wir freuen uns sehr, Sie zur nächsten Ausstellung "Kontur" von Jana Morgenstern einzuladen. Erstmals präsentieren wir in einer Einzel-Ausstellung Arbeiten auf Leinwand, der neu im Galerie-Programm vertretenen Künstlerin. Sie hat als Meister-Schülerin bei Professor Max Uhlig die Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Dresden absolviert und lebt und arbeitet in Dresden.
