Di Giovanni Vacca Da alcuni decenni a questa parte siamo all’interno di una triplice rivoluzione: una rivoluzione economica (la globalizzazione), una rivoluzione tecnologica (la digitalizzazione), una rivoluzione linguistica (l’internazionalizzazione dell’inglese).
Gli italiani, pare, hanno digerito o almeno accettato le prime due ma faticano ad accogliere la terza. Da quando è invalso il termine lockdown (che viene quasi sempre pronunciato con l’accento sbagliato, sulla seconda sillaba quando dovrebbe essere sulla prima), assistiamo a una ripresa di un mai scomparso patriottismo linguistico che, nel nobile intento di salvare la grande tradizione della lingua italiana, se la prende col bersaglio sbagliato: l’inglese. Indicativo, in questo senso, un verso di un sonetto di Luigi Pulci, "cazz e cuccé - quel primo in cul ti stia! " Un'ipotesi ripresa da Antonio Lupis (2002) è che cazzo sia connesso col verbo latino capitiare da cui anche cacciare, con valore di "infilare, mettere dentro con forza". Jhumpa Lahiri Finds Freedom In Italian Memoir: 'No One Expected Me To Do It' In 1999, Jhumpa Lahiri won a Pulitzer Prize for her very first book, Interpreter of Maladies. Her 2003 novel, Namesake, was turned into a movie, and she went on to publish Unaccustomed Earth and The Lowland. But Lahiri wasn't satisfied. "I've always been searching to arrive at a certain voice that will probably elude me forever," she tells NPR's Ari Shapiro. So Lahiri is trying something new — very new. She wrote her new memoir, In Other Words, in Italian. "One week after moving to Rome I started writing in my diary in Italian.
