Another one of my favorite things: when I convince someone to read one of those books, and he or she loves it as much I do. So keeping that in mind, here’s a short list of books that transformed the way I see the world. I could go on for pages, but here’s a start, and if you’re at your bookstore or the library, check these out… 1. Christopher Alexander, A Pattern Language. The Munchies, Marijuana and Happiness. Why does smoking marijuana produce the munchies? What does this peculiar response tell us about our brain ? It turns out, quite a lot; particularly with regard to our ability to experience happiness and joy and to avoid obesity and depression .
