For the past several weeks, long-running debates in the Drupal community have been in the spotlight. Since DrupalCon London in August, discussions about the maintainability of Drupal Core, the nature of Drupal as a web framework, and its proper target audience have generated hundreds of comments. At the heart of the current debate are some key questions:

Building the Wedful platform took me about a year of pain, tears, blood, and triumph (not necessarily in that order) and since then I've been contacted by several people going through the same difficulties themselves with putting together their own Drupal platform. Wedful is designed specifically for couples planning their weddings to be able to easily launch a website and manage the details surrounding their weddings online, so we needed to be able to easily manage hundreds (hopefully tens of thousands someday) in a scalable manner. Some of the people I've spoken to have been looking to build niche products for the restaurant industry , hotel industry, and even one with a similar concept to Drupal Gardens .

Does Acquia exert inappropriate influence on Drupal core? | groups.drupal.org

http://groups.drupal.org/node/170999#comment-579779 Sun's blog post yesterday and some of the comments on it raise the concern that Acquia , a single commercial company, exerts inappropriate influence on the direction of Drupal core. I've been a full-time Acquia employee for the last year, was active in Drupal 7 core development prior to that, continue to be active in core and contrib as time allows, and am very passionate about wanting Drupal to be a healthy open source software project and community.
The Crawl is looking to hire someone to fulfill two roles: web developer and site administrator. The role of the developer is to formulate and implement new features requested by the Crawl Society, implement design changes made by the graphic designer, and resolve issues surrounding the functionality of the site.

Recent articles and latest developments of RDF in Drupal 7 (May 2011) | groups.drupal.org

http://groups.drupal.org/node/148879 I also posted my masters thesis on my blog, with a retrospective on the whole initiative to integrate RDF in Drupal 7 core. It includes a few pages on the design of RDF and RDFa in Drupal 7 core as it was back in 2009 (which is still pretty accurate).

I recently received an email from someone who'd taken one of my lynda.com courses. He writes: The company that recently hired me to redesign their website is asking about possibly using Sharepoint - while I am promoting Drupal.
