Imbibe Unfiltered

In our March/April New York Issue, we highlight serendipiTea as one of the "101 Reasons to Love Drinking in New York." Based in Manhasset, serendipiTea offers an incredible selection of organic and fair-trade teas, many of which you can find at coffee shops, restaurants and bars across New York City. And now's your chance to get a taste yourself because serendipiTea is giving away a special chocolate tea collection to one lucky imbiber. This collection includes a beautiful box filled with six chocolate-infused teas, including Buccaneer, Currantly Cordial, X-Chai, Pagan Alms, Once Upon a Tea and Faux Cocoa. We've had these teas, and they're amazing! http://imbibemagazine.blogspot.com/

Jeffrey Morgenthaler

http://www.jeffreymorgenthaler.com/ In my opinion, one of the greatest triumphs of the cocktail renaissance is the rediscovery of the classic Old Fashioned . I’ve often spoken of how at some point after the repeal of Prohibition, the Old Fashioned became lost and possibly confused with a long-forgotten drink called a Smash (basically a tarted-up Mint Julep covered in fruit), a mere husk of its former, glorious self. For decades, bartenders just like me served a limp, weak concoction consisting of a half-muddled sugar cube, a mashed-up neon red cherry and orange, a splash of whiskey, and some soda water drowning the results. With a little luck, and a lot of hard work, that’s all changed with the renewed interest in classic cocktails.
As I mentioned previously, my favorite thing at Tales of the Cocktail this year was the Nonstop to Tokyo. It was by luck, and the kindness of my friend Nathan Luchansky , that I was even able to attend - the event was completely sold out at least two months ahead of time and Nathan gave me a ticket. Starting out, we headed into a suite and were given a boarding pass for our trip to Tokyo.
