http://bligbi.com/2009/04/27/christianity%e2%80%99s-latest-absurd-whine/ A few weeks or so ago a British man managed to get the Church of England to officially recognize that he was no longer a member. As a result of the publicity somewhere around 100 thousand Brits have downloaded the form requesting the church quit counting them as members. As you’ve probably guessed from the title of this post, there’s at least one Christian whose got a problem with this. According to Thomas A.

“Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed. Results like these do not belong on the résumé of a Supreme Being. http://www.goodreads.com/quotes/tag/atheism

This page was forwarded to me by my brother in Islam Haleem , a new convert to Islam; may Allah Almighty always be pleased with him. This page is located at http://wings.buffalo.edu/sa/muslim/library/jesus-say/ch1.2.2.5.html This is the type of clear, decisive, and to-the-point verse I have been asking for. However, as I would later find out, this verse is now universally recognized as being a later "insertion" of the Church and all recent versions of the Bible, such as the Revised Standard Version the New Revised Standard Version, the New American Standard Bible, the New English Bible, the Phillips Modern English Bible ...etc. have all unceremoniously expunged this verse from their pages. http://www.answering-christianity.com/1john5_7.htm

Bible Babble - Atheist Quotes and Clergy quotes

Here it is, as you requested, and updated/revised/better quote section. If I couldn't find a bunch of quotes from someone, I put it in the Misc. Quotes section.
This pamphlet briefly looks at many of the reasons that Christianity is undesirable from both a personal and a social point of view. All of the matters discussed here have been dealt with elsewhere at greater length, but that’s beside the point: the purpose of 20 Reasons to Abandon Christianity is to list the most outstanding misery-producing and socially destructive qualities of Christianity in one place. When considered in toto, they lead to an irresistible conclusion: that Christianity must be abandoned, for the sake of both personal happiness and social progress. As regards the title, "abandon"—rather than "suppress" or "do away with"—was chosen deliberately. http://www.seesharppress.com/20reasons.html#numberone

20 Reasons to Abandon Christianity

"Question with boldness even the existence of God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason than that of blindfolded fear." "To talk of immaterial existences is to talk of nothings. To say that the human soul, angels, God, are immaterial, is to say they are nothings, or that there is no God, no angels, no soul. I cannot reason otherwise: but I believe I am supported in my creed of materialism by Locke, Tracy, and Stewart. At what age of the Christian church this heresy of immaterialism, this masked atheism, crept in, I do not know. http://www.atheistempire.com/greatminds/gmtext.html

Great Minds: atheist quotes

Most anti-choicers claim obedience to the divinely inspired word of God, so let's review their performance by taking a look at what the Bible has to say about abortion. Extremely little, actually, but what it does say appears to be in direct contradiction to the anti-choice stance. First, let's look at the Bible passages that anti-choicers generally cite to prop up their position. Incredibly, they rely mainly on just three that have nothing to do with abortion. Apparently, anti-choicers believe these vague passages say something significant about the status of the fetus, although it's impossible for any reasonable person to discern exactly what. http://www.prochoiceactionnetwork-canada.org/articles/bible.shtml

Scary Bible Quotes, NIV

If a man commits adultery with another man’s wife— with the wife of his neighbor— both the adulterer and the adulteress must be put to death. If, however, the charge is true and no proof of the girl’s virginity can be found, she shall be brought to the door of her father’s house and there the men of her town shall stone her to death. She has done a disgraceful thing in Israel by being promiscuous while still in her father’s house. Exodus 35:2 For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a Sabbath of rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it must be put to death.
Like all religions, the Holy Religion of the Invisible Pink Unicorn is based upon both Logic and Faith. We have Faith that She is Pink; and we Logically know that She is Invisible, because we can't see Her. In religion we believe only what we do not understand, except in the instance of an intelligible doctrine that contradicts an incomprehensible one.

Humorous Atheist Quotations

"The gods too are fond of a joke." — Aristotle (384-322 B.C.). The following are humorous (and sometimes serious too ) quotes gathered from the Web, Usenet's personal .sig and other sources. Since it's all a big rip-off, I am assuming no copyright whatsoever.

About The Dark Bible

I made the first Dark Bible in the early 1990s as a Macintosh Hypercard stack and used the alias "Zardoz" for the author name. I had originally feared using my own name due to veiled threats I had received from religious zealots, some of my fears which, no doubt, came from my own paranoia. The inspiration of the Dark Bible first stemmed from a combination of Ben Akerley's " The X-Rated Bible " and Steve Allen's, " Steve Allen on the Bible, Religion and Morality ", for the purpose of finding relevant passages that dealt with the wrath, scatological, and dubious moral teachings of God in the Bible. The Bible has served as one of the instruments that has steered me away from this awful religion. Hopefully, the Dark Bible will do the same for others. I first distributed the Dark Bible from my now ancient Freethinkers BBS.
