Due to the continued popularity of the Dal Kofta I really wanted to try and create another dish that embraces the deliciousness of lentils and spices. I made a sweet and spicy chilly, apple, tomato sauce to accompany the patties that adds a lovely hit of heat and a touch of that wonderful sweet/savoury combination that I love. This vegetarian recipe is super versatile and so very, very tasty.

The sauce got rave reviews from my kids. Served on a toasted bun or baked sweet potato, it is hugely satisfying. The other night when I made this Pulled Chicken recipe, the kids asked “what’s for dinner?” Usually, I don’t have any trouble explaining what I’m making, but that particular night, I wasn’t sure what to say. So, I told them I was making a barbecue-ish chicken on a bun, kind of like pulled pork, but with chicken. The sauce in this recipe got rave reviews from the boys. After the chicken was done (be sure not to overcook the chicken breast, otherwise it will be dry), I shredded it and put it back in the pot. I served this Crock Pot Barbecue Pulled Chicken Stuffed Sweet Potato style for myself, and on a bun for the boys. Ingredients. Readers' recipe swap: burgers | Felicity Cloake. No bummer summer: brined & grilled pork chops. Friday July 19, 2013 I was a vegetarian for 10 years and during that time, I hankered for meat. I didn’t really give in, but when I’d walk through my neighbourhood and smell steaks sizzling on balcony grills, I’d get envious. The smell of bacon didn’t do it for me, but the scent of summer grilling was enough to make me bonkers with meaty desire.

Those vegetarian days are long past now, so I can happily indulge in a once-in-a-while summer barbecue. Last summer we inherited our in-laws old gas grill – hello grilled meats! I had never grilled pork chops before, but when a sale at our local friendly butcher shop enticed me to buy four chops, I decided to try it out. The only other pork chop grilling tidbit I’d like to share is to let your meat rest after grilling. Seared tofu with date barbecue sauce recipe.
