CSS Terms and Definitions

Important in CSS, my eyes were opened to a small but significant terminology discrepancy. The article used the phrase “the ! Important CSS declaration” in reference to the word “important” that appears with a preceding exclamation point at the end of a line of CSS. That’s not the correct terminology, and this was mentioned in the comments by Brad Czerniak. I subsequently corrected the wording in the article, and even requested that Smashing Magazine change the title to reflect this improved understanding (which they did early this morning shortly before I published this article). This reminded me that we should be consistent in the use of our terms with regards to CSS. Comment A comment has no effect on the display of the page that’s styled; it’s for the CSS author to read and better understand the code. Rule Set Declaration Block A declaration block is the section of CSS where the property/value pairs appear.

However, implementation limitations might cause some of them to not be displayed correctly even on those browsers (for example at the time of writing, Gecko is quite buggy with radial gradients). Also, this gallery won’t work in Firefox 3.6 and IE10, even though they support gradients, due to a JavaScript limitation. Submission guidelines. Daily Tech News Show is creating Podcasts.

Is CSS a programming language? - Software Engineering Stack Exchange

As I understand a programming language is something that can be used to solve a problem/perform an alogrithm. Then someone just said to me "I programmed a website using HTML, JavaScript, and CSS", and my immediate reaction was HTML and CSS are not programming languages, then remembered the L in HTML means Language. But still it is a "Markup Language". So are CSS and HTML programming languages? If they are they can't be in the same boat as languages like C. How do I feature tags? – Types of questions. How do I feature tags? – Types of questions

Featured tags are a great way to highlight your best work, using the tags you've added to your posts. If you haven't tagged any of your posts yet, start by learning how to add tags to posts. How do featured tags work? You can feature up to five of your post tags. When someone views the Overview or Posts section of your Patreon page and clicks a featured tag, they'll be able to browse all of your posts with that tag. If there is visual content (images, videos) on any of the posts you've chosen to feature, Featured tags will showcase the most recent visual content of your posts with that tag.

How do I set up featured tags? Go to your page editor, and look for the Featured Tags card on the bottom-left corner of the page.
