Jackson Fine Art, Private Art Collection Offerings. Commercial Printing | dpBestflow. What is CMYK? Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black are the colors used in the vast majority of commercial color printing – books, magazines, brochures and more. CMYK color is also commonly referred to as process color. It is a subtractive color model using cyan, magenta, yellow and black inks in color printing. Although theoretically all colors can be produced by cyan, magenta and yellow, printing inks are not totally pure in color and so a black plate is necessary to achieve a true black. As a matter of fact the "K" in CMYK comes from the word "key", meaning that the cyan, magenta and yellow plates are "keyed" or matched up to the black plate. Should photographers worry about converting to CMYK? The majority of photographers shy away from providing CMYK files.

Good RGB to CMYK conversion is both an art and a science, but it is not rocket science. How to choose the correct CMYK profile When you make a CMYK conversion from an RGB image, you need to decide which profile to convert to. How To Hang And Align Pictures Correctly On A Wall :: @Thinctanc.com. Art Framing Tips, Picture Framing Tutorials & More | Logan Graphic. How to hang your art | JUNIQE. We’ve come up with a few tips to make sure that your arrangement does your prints justice. Grid A grid can be a great way to display art if you have a few pictures of the same size. When hanging pictures in a grid formation treat them as one large picture. This also applies when hanging a pair of artworks, either one above the other or side by side.Try to get a sense of the proportions and see it within the context of all the other elements in the room.Leave a gap of 5cm between larger pictures and 4cm if they’re smaller.Top Tip: Loop a thread at one end and secure a weight to the other end.

Once you have attached the top row of hooks or nails to the wall, hang the thread on it. That way, you can have a straight line to guide you and ensure that you align the lower rows exactly in line with those above. Row Hanging pictures in a row works whether or not pictures are the same size. Salon-hanging Loose grid Frame collage Alternative hangers Frame with tape The correct height Test before you hang. The original source seems to be Black & White Photography by Rand and Litschel. Here is my equation that determines the print position mathematically, and a script that graphically illustrates the results. The optically-centered print is slightly above center. This may be more visually pleasing, because of an illusion in which a vertically-centered print seems to “sink” a little on the mount. From Rand and Litschel An optical illusion occurs if a print is absolutely centered on a board. It is commonly agreed, and obvious even to the most untrained observer, that a print centered on the vertical axis appears to be too low on the mount.

One accepted technique involves placing the print near the ‘optical center’ of the mount . . . . There is a natural tendency to apply our experience of gravity to images and image frames. The units are arbitrary. How big should the mount be? Student Work | Shillington College. It presents you to the world and, if you’re a freelancer, tends to play a major role in whether or not people choose to hire you. Because of my role as the editor of Design Shack, I’ve viewed a ton of online portfolios and today I’d like to walk through some of the weaknesses I see time and time again. Read on to see if you’ve made some of these mistakes. 1. Listing Your Age Oddly enough, this is an extremely common piece of information to find on web designer portfolios. Only Kids Brag on Their Age This bugs me every single time I see it. “You never see someone bragging about being a 43 year old web designer.”

You’ll find that the experienced designers brag about exactly that: experience. Who Cares? Here’s my gripe with this piece of information: who gives a crap? Just The Necessities Skip the fluff. 2. Here’s another one that always gets me with the young designers. If It’s All You Have, Show It 3. Acting a Fool 4. House of Portfolios Nederland. Blechdose DIN Norm Dose A4 31x22x2 5cm. I have been thinking about how the ideas for a potential photography project are formed in the mind.

The following is a jumbled list of how the creative process works in my mind. It may not be correct or complete but it’s where I am at with my understanding of the creative process. Probably the first thing to say is – photography is not about photography, it is about life in all its wonderful diversity. So look to engage with the world. And secondly to quote John Barry (Composer) – the worst thing you can do is, fall in love with the first idea you have. Notice the word “process”, ideas do not spring to life in a creative vacuum. I could start thinking about my project at the beginning, middle or the end. So I would start by deciding when the project has been completed – what needs to have happened. Now you can think about potential ideas for your project the who, what why, when etc. Like this:
