Ok, so let's be fair, one bite of a burger won’t cause diabetes and one glass of beer won’t cause obesity; but as the advertising industry shows positives only, so here Hertz has gone to the opposite extreme and focused only on the negatives. Star Wars Blueprints I came across these great designs by A2K Design recently and being a huge Star Wars fan, I loved them and thought I'd share them with you guys.

He combines the portraits of Two people who are related, to demonstrate the similarities between them. How to Use Depth of Field. "Cooper" captured by Terri Cage (Click Image to See More From Terri Cage) The term refers to the amount of detail in the photograph that is in focus. A typical landscape photograph will will show detail over a long distance, all of which will be in focus and recognizable by the viewer. A head and shoulders portrait will usually work best if only the face is in sharp focus. Often the background will be blurred and out of focus in order to remove any distractions.
Two questions usually pop up here: Why is this a good thing? How do you achieve it? O.K., first things first. Five Principles to Design By. Five high-level principles that guide my design. 1. Technology Serves Humans. Too often people blame themselves for the shortcomings of technology. When their computer crashes, they say “I must have done something dumb”. If a web site is poorly designed, they say “I must be stupid. I can’t find it”. This is horrible! Technology serves humans. 2. Art is about personal expression. Design, on the other hand, is about use. Unlike Art, Design is always contextual.
Great Art, on the other hand, is always in style. The litmus test. 3. Designers do not create experiences, they create artifacts to experience. The ultimate experience is something that happens in the user, and it is theirs. 4. An interesting property of great design is that it is taken for granted. Bad design is obvious because it hurts to use. 5. As Saint Exupery said, “In anything at all, perfection is finally attained not when there is no longer anything to add, but when there is no longer anything to take away.” Wild Life by Zerj.
9 online portfolio tools for artists and designers - Webdistortion. I was recently asked by a designer friend of mine if I knew of any good resources for publishing graphic design work online. The friend in question – (hi Jules – ta for the blog post inspiration) comes from a traditional print background, and not wanting to spend loads of time messing around creating a webpage in Dreamweaver or similar, I decided to come up with a list of good places online where graphic designers can get additional exposure for web, print and traditional art. Fortunately a number of excellent web applications exist which require little or no technical expertise to get your work up on the web, with a good personalised URL. Enjoy. In this post I’d like to explain why I choose to sell my products independently and show how easy it is for anyone to create their own site selling digital goods – whether it is Flash templates, WordPress themes, E-books, software, etc. First off, I have nothing against FlashDen . I think the whole Envato collection of sites is wonderful for the creative community.
I actually used to sell on FlashDen back in the day before eventually deciding to go off on my own with Warm Forest. For me it came down to having control over everything (pricing/marketing/support) and just the fact that it’s more fun for me to do things myself.
