DIY WRAPPED GLADIATOR SANDALS. 15th May 2014 Gladiator styles have continued to be popular this season, which is something I’m rejoicing because a) they look great on b) they’re easy to make and c) they’re so much more interesting than a simple summer sandal.

Scary tan lines are one reason not to rejoice, but what with the strapped swimwear and cut out dresses I plan on wearing this season I’m guessing that leg lines are going to be the least of my worries! DIY Hoot Owl Toms Tutorial. My niece recently asked me to paint owls on her white Toms.

I love the challenge of a good project but I have to say, I was a bit fearful of tackling such a fete. And messing up? Dorothy's Shoes. I have always wanted a pair of sparkly red shoes just like Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz.

Unfortunately they are really hard to come by outside of child size 6. Little known fact, however, is in the original story Dorothy has silver shoes. Actually a lot of the story was changed in the film. DIY Beaded Flip Flops. Even though the temperature is rising, you don’t have to compromise comfort or style.

While thankfully the whole trend of wearing them everywhere has passed (that’s so 2005!) , but if you’re vacationing at the beach or just bumming around on the weekend you definitely need a fancy pair of flip flops to take your casual beach look up a notch and this DIY tutorial to make your own beaded flip flops, is just the way to do it.

Ugh. How boring! We're not ready to retire our brightly coloured hues just yet, how about you? Why not dip your toes into some playful colour and keep a little bit of summer in your step with a pair of dip-dyed shoes. All you need are some white sneakers, fabric dye (in your choice of colour), Vaseline, baking powder and an old toothbrush. Fashion friday- statement flats. I am loving the current trend of funky and colorful statement flats- I mean who doesn't want to make a statement with their shoes!?

While I love to buy shoes (boy do I LOVE to buy them) I decided to transform a pair that I already had in the closet that could use a little update. I wanted something BR IGHT and funky- The look I was going for- Keith Haring meets polka dots! 1. I started with a pair of yellow flats that I purchased last year at Target. 2. I used Tulip Soft Fabric Paint and a couple of small brushes. 3. 4.I covered the entire surface with lots of dots. 5. DIY Sandals. Interchangeable Flip-Flops. Are you ready for the sun?

Interchangeable Flip-Flops

Ready to paint those toe nails and slip into some sandals? I am too. And I decided to greet spring (that will be here soon) with some flip-flops, with interchangeable straps. So I can start the day with some color and print….. Then change my mind. And take off the strap….. ……..and switch to a solid ruffle. Then choose some warm colors and sweet flowers the next day…… And then animal print with a simple bow the following day. Make Your Own Summer Sandals. For this idea, the spiral scarf pattern had to wait a few more days. SHOES. I’ve always wanted to make shoes.

Any shoes. The closest I’ve come are some knitted and felted Mary Janes. They’re nice, but they’re house shoes and that put them in the same category as socks. Graceful Lace. I have a thing with lace and shoes.

Graceful Lace

A really, really big thing. In fact, this is the THIRD pair of shoes that I have made lacy this year. On the one hand, I will always have a pair of lace shoes to perfectly complement any outfit. On the other hand, who really cares? Lace is awesome and on trend this fall and if you don’t have any lacy shoes, yet, you need to listen up! Saddle Shoes. Hello & a happy friday to you!

Saddle Shoes

Saddle shoes are back in style and are being made by some big brands. problem is they tend to come with a pretty big price tag too. definitely worth it in my opinion but for those on a budget or until you have saved up enough pennies i've got a quick, fun & cheap alternative for you! Converse Kicks with a Mink Tongue. Holy shit! This diy is so gangster. Must must must. Here here here. Photos: indecoroustaste. Rain Boots with Ribbon. Nothing would make me prouder than to tell you I have nothing better to do than embellish my rain boots but this would only be a half truth. The whole truth is that I have these really large calves and no boots in the world boots do not fit me. It's a terrible cross to bear. So, in comes getting creative. I found these rain boots at Walmart for ~$25, the grommets came from Hobby Lobby (buy more than you think you will need) and I had the ribbon. Any kind should work as well as a scarf, fabric strips etc. Step 1: Cut the boot as deep as you need it.

Step 2: Add the grommets per the instructions on the package. Step 3: Thread your ribbon & tie a bow. Ankle Fringe. I bought these Jessica Simpson nude patent heels quite a while ago and would have returned them if there weren’t $50. I figure for $50 I’ll wear them at some point, even if under long pants because I don’t really love how they make my legs look. I probably wouldn’t buy a pair of ankle fringe shoes but since the idea is so simple, I though, why not? You can make the fringe cuffs smaller …to hit at your actual ankle but I find that sometimes cuts off my leg. The lower swag under the ankle bone elongates the leg a bit and the fringe actually changed the way my legs appear in the shoes and now I’m happy with them. Houndstooth Shoes. Glitter Sneaker. When Target approached me about a Converse One Star DIY challenge I couldn’t resist, but it wasn’t until I saw these Miu Miu glitter sneakers that I had any clue how I was going to give my white sneaks a personality all their own.

DIYers have been glueing glitter to their shoes for decades! The most challenging part of this DIY was figuring out what material I was going to use to create the steel toe. I was thrilled to find the little pyramid studs in my own craft closet to complete the look. Lanvin Sneakers. While casually perusing the shoe salon at Barney's last week I happened upon the cutest summer sneaker. Two-Tone Glitter Shoes. Faux Painted Oxfords DIY. I’m really digging the whole oxford trend right now. Chloé Susan Boots.
