DIY Jumping Jack Bugs. Make a simple & happy jumping jack bug toy with a paper roll, thread and cereal box! I love these traditional puppets. You don’t need anything but your imagination to draw a cute face and bring the little fellas to life. Pull down the string to make it fly! Materials Printable template (download here)Cereal boxTissue paper rollYarn needleStrong thread or stringPaint & brush (or markers)ScissorsGlue Step 1 Draw two long “L“s on the paper roll as shown in the picture above.

Step 2 Fold the “L“s you cut inside the paper roll. Step 3 Decorate your bug! Step 4 Next, we’ll create the joints by piercing the paper roll and the wings on the dots marked with an “A.” Make sure the joints aren’t too tight so they are easily moveable! Step 5 Connect the two wings by tying a thread between the holes marked “B” on the template, above the joints. Step 6 Tie the bug-pull shapes at the end of the thread and then make a loop at the top of the paper roll. Happy crafting! 3191 Miles Apart. 12 x Koti Giveaway winner! At Home With Publicerad 03 april 2013 In The Bedroom: Wray Serna Vår vackra vän Wray Serna är lite av ett designgeni.

Our beautiful friend Wray Serna is a total design genius.

Home is where I can take a step back from the world and feel comfortable. I don't need that much to feel at home somewhere. Light is very important; I'm quite attached to my books and materials; and my boyfriend Olmo is a pretty essential part too. . * How does your interior mirror your work? Most of the pictures on the walls are our own or from exhibitions I helped organize. . * What's your favorite object in your room? As 2012 comes to a close I wanted to show you a very special project that we managed to fit in this year. I was asked to design a wall mural for the corridor of the Children's Emergency Department of St Georges Hospital, London. The work had to be uplifting for kids of all ages with things going on at lots of different height levels. The corridor changes in width, and leads from the reception to different parts of the hospital. I thought it would be nice if the wall was lined with curious looking trees. Within the trees various creatures live, a smiling cat, a family of hand drawn koalas, a lime green snail and even a bear in boots! Here are some pictures of the install, the work was made from sticky wall vinyl by Bradford based company new vision - www.new-vision.co.uk Line of ants who have made their home along the bumper rail!

CLICK HERE to be taken to all posts regarding my studio and glass work Welcome to my glass studio! Soon I will be able to manipulate glass in my back yard, 8x6 studio. I will be making pendants, marbles, paperweights, and my ultimate goal is to have my own line of glass plugs and body jewelry.

This little "hut" in my back yard took many many hours of labor and love to build. The windows and door were salvaged finds - nearly every pane of glass had to be replaced, as well as the muttons. I tried to keep as many old pieces of the glass as I could because they had the old wavy glass in them, but unfortunately many had cracked and already broken. Chiemolerat. I wasn't going to post anything today, honestly since the shooting on Friday my heart and mind have been elsewhere.... but I just had to share these lovely handmade dolls as they made me smile today. I thought we could all use a little cheering up! These lovely handmade dolls are created by Huey Ling, all the way from China and you can see her creative journey and collection on her lovely blog: POCOLEIZI.

Thank you Malu for sharing. Knockknock. My name is Unni Strand, I live in Norway, I'm 36 years old and work as a teacher, teaching interiors, design and art subjects. I have a particular passion for textile and have a background in weaving.I live in a grey house, have two children, and grow my own vegetables. My number one rule when I do my designs, is to use recycled materials as much as I can. I find used fabrics at fleamarkets, wash them, handprint them and turn them into new, usable objects. I have opened a new shop with really sustainable t-shirts!

... and this is my blog! In what kind of house do you live and with whom? I live with my partner, my son (18) and my daughter (4) in a detached house in Norway. Why did you choose for the color grey as an important color in your home? Our house has a warm and soft grey color outside. Can you mention some of the small treasures in your home that you really cherish?

When I was studying my BA in Scotland, I was lucky enough to do an exchange trip to Maastricht in the south of Holland. It was a great experience for me and I still have friends that I met there over 15 years ago! One of my good friends Esther has her own toy company - they make kids toys, pram accessories, and some soft furnishings. She has a really unique style which keeps developing. I love her latest catalogue where she creates a story and wonderful sets... Here are a few images from her story in the new catalogue, love all the details. When I was told about a 4 day workshop at Bunya last year I had not heard of the visiting Canadian artist who would be leading this workshop.

I picked up the message from the host that it was a not-to-be-missed event and gladly paid a deposit then preceded to get distracted with things till the call out came this year and I found online links. Nothing however could have prepared me for the 4 days of teaching I have just experienced at the home and garden of gracious host Roz who brought the wonderful Dorothy Caldwell to Brisbane to present her 'Human Marks' workshop. I've assembled the following photos as a snapshot of the 4 days... but I will post more at the studio blog soon as I wish to link to Dorothy's work and also her friend from South Australia, India Flint, who was here as well and will be doing a workshop this week at Bunya plus a book talk at the Brisbane City Library on Friday evening at 5.30pm and a showing of her work next day at Bunya.

Dorothy Caldwell making pages... Grass Doe (aka John Levitt) The first 4 years of my life were spent around Anchorage, AK. My parents had packed my 3 brothers and me, when I was just an infant, into an old green school bus and left the south for what they hoped was a new and pure frontier, the image of homesteading probably in their minds. We had 3 goats, what I remember to be a constant rotation of different dogs (which seem to pack up and run off with the wolves), faceless cats and a guinea pig named Peaches and Cream.

Alaska was in my past before my mind knew how to store memories in a way I could draw from later. But as Faulkner says "Memory believes before knowing remembers.
