Yes, there is a wrong way to tweet—or, at least, an ineffective way. Follow this blueprint to ensure your tweets spread your brand's message.

By Kristin Piombino | Posted: March 6, 2013 A tweet only has 140 characters. It can't be that hard to write a good one, right? Wrong. With such a small amount of characters at your disposal, you need to make the most of each one. Lucky for you, this infographic from MarketingThink.com makes it simple to draft a perfect tweet. The perfect tweet consists of three main parts: your message, a link and blank space. Message: Call to action: Tell readers what you want them to do. Link: Shortened URLs: Bit.ly links earn the most retweets. Blank space: Leave room for at least 20 characters at the end of your tweet so retweeters can add comments.

This week I had the opportunity to speak to a Public Relations class at Champlain College about measurement, public relations and Google Analytics. After rambling for an hour, I through it would be a good idea to jot down my advice in hopes that others can use it or, more importantly, improve on it.

Let me be clear, I’m not a PR expert. You should follow KD Paine, Nicole Ravlin, PR News and other experts to learn about PR. But hopefully some of these Google Analytics tips will help those in PR measure better. Have A Measurement Plan Before you do any measurement you should have a plan. This is where my lack of PR knowledge hurts me because I don’t know all of the tactics that a PR pro uses :) But thanks to the students at Champlain, I learned that PR deals with controlling the flow of information between a company and the public, and they try to persuade the public regarding a certain viewpoint, idea or product. At the end of the day PR activities should help drive business outcomes :) 1. Top 100 technology blogs to follow in 2013. Hacking Kickstarter: How to Raise $100,000 in 10 Days (Includes Successful Templates, E-mails, etc.) Mike Del Ponte co-founded Soma, which raised more than $100,000 on Kickstarter using virtual assistants and free apps. I first met Mike Del Ponte two years ago when he was running marketing at BranchOut, a startup I advise. Before joining BranchOut, Mike had explored a variety of career paths, including preparing for the priesthood at Yale Divinity School and serving as a peacemaker in the West Bank.

Earlier this year, Mike came to me with a new product idea called Soma. Soma is, in its simplest form, a high-end competitor to Brita water filters. It combines Apple-inspired design (e.g. sleek glass carafe) with a subscription service that delivers the world’s first compostable water filter to your door. To launch Soma on Kickstarter (and raise $100,000+ in just nine days), Mike and his team used some of the techniques that helped BranchOut grow to 25 million users in just 16 months.

Mycestro is a 3D mouse that enables more mobile computing.

Whereas a traditional computer mouse requires a flat surface to operate, this design places it on the index finger and allows you to control your computer with hand gestures and mouse functions. The small and lightweight piece of wearable tech leads to more intuitive interactions as it tracks hand motion in 3D space. Mycestro incorporates Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy Protocol and has a range of up to 30 feet. It is activated by your thumb so when you’re not touching it, the cursor pauses until you use it again. The touch-sensitive panel initiates cursor movement and you can control the cursor position by moving your hand in the direction you want it to go. To make selections, you simply release the touch panel and then tap it again on the left, middle or right button section.

The 3D mouse has an internal battery that can be charged via USB, with an estimated battery life of around eight hours. Mycestro. Am – Instagram webviewer. How important is content in a digital marketing strategy.
