Spaziotempo di Minkowski

Tropic of Capricorn. Map of Life. This page intentionally left ugly. For the last year or so, I’ve been trying to put together the interior of my cabin so I’ll know what areas need windows and where I can put the plumbing.

This got to be too cumbersome, so I moved to starting the design from the exterior and moving inward. This too, as several people have taught me over email, is also a case of Doing It Wrong. 2013 Serpentine Gallery Pavilion / Sou Fujimoto. The mechanical bugs, many of which Gershenson-Gates can balance on just his pinky finger, are miniature, multi-legged creatures that each take the artist several hours to complete. 3D Face Masks Created from DNA Found in Public Spaces. Information artist Heather Dewey-Hagborg recreates faces of people by extracting genetic information from found objects in the street for her experimental project titled Stranger Visions.

3D Face Masks Created from DNA Found in Public Spaces

Using saliva traced from a piece of gum on the floor or a discarded cigarette butt, not to mention loose hairs that can wind up just about anywhere, the artist and a team of biologists have constructed a series of three-dimensional human faces. Cloning and 3D printing (as of late) have proven to be controversial branches of science and technology because of their invasive and detrimental possibilities. Similarly, Dewey-Hagborg's scientific art presents an unsettling level of biology-based art that contains a great deal of genetic information. Working with Genspace, a Brooklyn-based DIY biology lab, the artist is able to analyze DNA and determine the person's physical appearance, from gender and eye color to cultural roots. 12 Most Unforgettable Artworks from 2012. Internal Anatomy Layered Within Classic Sculptures

When fully assembled, the artist's modular sculptures appear to be like any other finely crafted structure, but it's upon dismantling the piece that one notices the insides replicating the color and texture of raw meat. Essentially, Cao gives life to a dead object with his constructed illusion, which is actually made of resin. Observing Generation Gaps. How similar are parent and child? German photographer Frauke Theilking's photo project called "Generation" observes the similarities and differences between generations.

Each photo pairs a parent and child, either a mother/daughter or father/son combo, side by side. Devoid of an elaborate background, Theilking's photos focus the viewer's attention on the subjects, who themselves aren't wearing any distracting clothing. Looking at the two figures, there are apparent (no pun intended) likenesses and gaps. 50 Animated Gifs for Every Situation Ever.
