Five personal favourites. I was recently contacted by Mark Sinclair at Creative Review to help with the logo-specific April 2011 issue.

I was asked (along with a group of others who are listed below) to nominate five of my favourite logos, and the choices were tallied-up alongside some internal voting to represent CR’s “top 20 logos of all time.” Having read through the April issue (which is excellent) it’s clear that the top 20 consists mostly of designs that were created many years/decades ago. As stated within, “Affection and respect build over time.” Some truly iconic design work, too, with the majority having previously been featured here on Logo Design Love. I judged my selection a little differently, basing my choices purely on the idea of the isolated marks, as opposed to recognition or flexibility. I've written about it here plenty in the past and it's seen explosive growth hitting 3 million users in less than six months. It can be a little limiting though given that it only launched on iPhone and doesn't even have a website for you to view your photos which is why I wanted to compile this handy little last of apps built around the service. With explosive growth and a strong developer community the future looks very bright for this photo sharing website.
