Origami Beetle by Shuki Kato. Spotted this amazing paper beetle designed and folded by Shuki Kato. It’s folded from a single 22″ square of tracing paper and has a nearly 10″ wingspan. Check out the rest of his impeccable folding work here. Incredibly Small Origami by Anja Markiewicz. Paper artist Anja Markiewicz folds these impossibly small origami pieces using sheets of paper smaller than an inch in width.

Rashad Alakbarov Paints with Shadows and Light. This is kind of flying all over the internet right now, but I couldn’t resist sharing. Artist Rashad Alakbarov from Azerbaijan uses suspended translucent objects and other found materials to create light and shadow paintings on walls. The jaw-dropping light painting above, made with an array of colored airplanes is currently on view at the Fly to Baku exhibition at De Pury Gallery in London through January 29th. Environmental Artist Tony Plant Transforms the Beaches of England into Swirling Canvases.
Armed with little more than standard garden rake, environmental artist Tony Plant transforms the breathtakingly scenic beaches of England into temporary canvases for his swirling sand drawings. Each work is created below the tidal zones where the sand is flatter and wetter, allowing for greater contrast as he quickly drags the rake into various geometric patterns.
The beauty however is fleeting as the artworks last only a few hours before being consumed by the incoming tide.
