Le seuil des 300 millions avait été franchi il y a un peu plus de neuf mois, en décembre 2014, Instagram passant pour la première fois à cette date devant le réseau social Twitter. Et la vitesse de progression de la filiale de Facebook met particulièrement en lumière les problèmes de croissance de Twitter, qui plafonne toujours autour de 300 millions d'utilisateurs et se cherche depuis maintenant plus de trois mois un nouveau patron. Instagram a précisé mardi dans un message sur son blog officiel que plus de 75% de ses utilisateurs vivaient en dehors des Etats-Unis et qu'ils partageaient chaque jour plus de 80 millions de photos sur son réseau.
Instagram Now Tops 400 Million Users And 40 Billion Photos. Facebook says it will give video creators and publishers a way to remove copyrighted videos that have been uploaded to its popular social network without the proper permission.
The company has come under fire from video creators, like YouTube star Hank Green, for allowing users to embed and post videos on the site, even if the content doesn’t belong to them. But this may soon change. Facebook responded to such concerns in a blog post today, saying that it will soon be testing a “new video matching technology,” allowing video partners to check whether their content has been uploaded without their consent.
“This technology is tailored to our platform, and will allow these creators to identify matches of their videos on Facebook across Pages, profiles, groups, and geographies,” the company explained in the post.
