The Challenge: 1 Hour of You For 30 Days!

Since starting CE it has been almost day-in and day-out of getting things on the go, and before I knew it, I realized not only how much time had gone by but how little time I was giving to myself each day. This challenge will change that and I want you to try it as well! The Challenge For the next 30 days I will spend 1 hour each day geared towards just ME. I have set out some guidelines to help make sure this time is spent truly with myself and not filled with distractions. Streaming Films, Original Interviews, Yoga & Fitness. In Sanskrit ashwagandha means “the smell of a horse,” indicating that the herb imparts the vigor and strength of a stallion, and it has traditionally been prescribed to help people strengthen their immune system after an illness. 10½ Favorite Reads from TED Bookstore 2013

Once again this year, like last, I had the honor of curating a selection of books for the TED Bookstore at TED 2013, themed The Young. The Wise. The Undiscovered. Below are this year’s picks, along with the original text that appears on the bookstore cards and the introductory blurb about the selection: ‘I feel … as though the physical stuff of my brain were expanding, larger and larger, throbbing quicker and quicker with new blood — and there is no more delicious sensation than this,’ Virginia Woolf wrote on the mesmerism of books. A die-cut masterpiece, two years in the making, I Saw a Peacock with a Fiery Tail (public library), one of the best art books of 2012, is based on a 17th-century British “trick” poem and illustrated in the signature Indian folk art style of the Gond tribe by Indian artist Ramsingh Urveti.

Chuck recorded my new Discover Your Soul Purpose meditation CD, and offered to provide some background piano music as well. From the beginning, I knew the meditations needed some kind of scoring, but exactly what and how eluded me. Furthermore, I had no idea how I was going to ‘direct’ such a musician. Meanwhile, the clock was ticking and the meter was running.

Enter Chuck. He’d think for a minute, and then just start playing the most quintessential wildflower music you’ve ever heard. Then I’d say, ”Now this part is warmer — like The Waltons.” [Photo from Charles Eller Studios.] 1. 2. Creative People: A Complex Personality. Douglas Eby - main sites.
