DIY: Christian Louboutin glitter pumps. I know what you're thinking: Uh, glitter shoes are for strippers and Wizard of Oz costumes... but actually, apparently they are back in! And I know I don't need them, but I am very proud of how I replicated these $595 Christian Louboutin pumps with some $6 Target heels, some Mod Podge, glitter, and red spray paint (for the signature red sole!!). Yeah, they also come in fuchsia, but I'm not that funky... I used JoAnn's almost-micro glitter in the gold, silver, and copper package. I stuffed the shoes with plastic bags and sprayed them with plain gold spray paint. After choosing your quote, wrap your fabric over the cardboard to keep the marker from bleeding through and to keep the fabric stretched out smooth. Use a pencil to stencil your quote onto the fabric.
Once you’ve penciled everything in, go at it with your fabric marker! Will post pics from the event soon... and a big thank you to those who stopped by! 1: Lay t-shirt flat. 2: Create an eye-shaped template (4 1/2” in height at the center and width the same as the t-shirt). 3: Trace onto shirt with fabric pencil. 4: Cut along lower curve, be sure to cut through both front and back of shirt. 5: Cut along upper curve. 6: Try shirt on and measure how cropped you prefer your shirt to be. 7: Begin cutting fringe from hem to bottom of tape guideline. 8: Gently pull each fringe. 9: Cut a square pocket (3 1/2 “ x 3 1/2”) from any desired fabric. 10: Voila!

DIY tiered lace shorts. I fell completely in love when I saw the Isabel Marant tiered lace shorts from her Spring ’11 Collection (via style.com), I just had to make a pair of my own. And recently, I stumbled upon a photo of Rumi Neely (via fashiontoast.com), styling herself in a black pair, which felt so effortless. I’m not much of a girlie girl… but I do love my lace. Why not take something so feminine, like lace, and mix it with something menswear inspired, like a short. It feels so modern, and definitely can be worn in so many ways. It can be paired with an oxford shirt and boots to take a more boyish route… or go all out feminine with a romantic top and heels.
