DIY: Christian Louboutin glitter pumps. I know what you're thinking: Uh, glitter shoes are for strippers and Wizard of Oz costumes... but actually, apparently they are back in! And I know I don't need them, but I am very proud of how I replicated these $595 Christian Louboutin pumps with some $6 Target heels, some Mod Podge, glitter, and red spray paint (for the signature red sole!!). Yeah, they also come in fuchsia, but I'm not that funky... They also have an open-toed version for $745: And Jimmy Choo has one for $595: They also have flats for (only) $365: So, take a look at my tutorial for these babies. I started with these nice (but boring) brown leather pumps I got on clearance a while ago from Target for $6.24.

I used JoAnn's almost-micro glitter in the gold, silver, and copper package. I stuffed the shoes with plastic bags and sprayed them with plain gold spray paint. Mix your Mod Podge with some of the beautiful glitter. Using the sponge dauber, swipe/wipe/blot the Mod Podge mixture onto the shoes, all over. All done!!! Physical canvas: DIY Bandage Skirt. I never thought of doing DIYs until people started asking me to and I am not sure as to why I haven't pursued the idea sooner. Many of the items in my closet are designed and sewed by myself since I can never find what I'm looking for in the store that is the correct fit, shape, or colour. And if I do find it, it's highly over priced...the story of my life! So here goes...thanks Necca from Chictopia for requesting this DIY! (this may look like a lot but read through it first and then proceed) The great thing about the bandage skirt, introduced and made popular by Herve Ledger, is that it sucks everything in leaving you with a nice form fitting skirt or dress.

The material is cut into strips and sewn in layers to give the illusion of a flattened stomach and slimmer hips. So because of this I started off by laying my four neon pieces of fabric in strips side by side (I'm missing one colour because I used it all-these are the scraps that I have left over). Thanks! January 16th, 2012 Have you tried fabric markers yet? I finally got around to it, and they work great.

Paired with a stencil you can use them to stencil your favorite quote on a tea towel, apron, t-shirt, table runner, pillow cover, place mat, cloth napkin, old pair of blue jeans—anything you can think of! {*style:Supplies: *}fabric item you want to stencil on some cardboard a pencil a letter stencil (I have this one. ) a fabric marker (I loved my black Sharpie fabric marker!) After choosing your quote, wrap your fabric over the cardboard to keep the marker from bleeding through and to keep the fabric stretched out smooth. Use a pencil to stencil your quote onto the fabric.

Once you’ve penciled everything in, go at it with your fabric marker! The Sharpie fabric marker packaging didn’t say anything about heat setting the ink, but I will probably press my fabric before I wash it, just to be safe. DIY Tutorial: Wang Spring 09. Flip the sweater inside out. (it's best to lay it on a flat surface) Cut out a piece of sheer fabric that's large enough to cover the first pattern that you will be working on. Sew the sheer fabric onto the pattern with a simple stitch. (the fabric of along the edges will slightly unravel which will create a neat effect) Cut around the border of the pattern to remove excess sheer fabric.Repeat step 3-4 with the other patterns.Flip the sweater back out and show off your faux alexander wang. Life through the eyes of, Tutorials. We get a lot of emails asking how to use brushes correctly so I hope this helps you out a little! A brow brush is designed to be stiff and angled for a reason. How to tie a half-bow scarf To tie the half-bow scarf, you should first loop the scarf around your neck and tie once– like the first step of tying your shoelaces. Then, take one side of the scarf and make a one loop, as if you were only tying one side of the bow on your shoes. Vacation!

DIY tiered lace shorts. I fell completely in love when I saw the Isabel Marant tiered lace shorts from her Spring ’11 Collection (via style.com), I just had to make a pair of my own. And recently, I stumbled upon a photo of Rumi Neely (via fashiontoast.com), styling herself in a black pair, which felt so effortless. I’m not much of a girlie girl… but I do love my lace. Why not take something so feminine, like lace, and mix it with something menswear inspired, like a short. It feels so modern, and definitely can be worn in so many ways. It can be paired with an oxford shirt and boots to take a more boyish route… or go all out feminine with a romantic top and heels. This project was pretty simple, I guess the hardest part for me was waiting for the glue to dry… I get so antsy… I just wanted to throw them on! 066: tutorial - inspired by glitter litas.
