LearningApps - interactive and multimedia learning blocks Is Animation an Effective Tool for Data Visualization? : Elegant Figures : Blogs March 14th, 2013 by Robert Simmon I (@rsimmon) had a brief exchange this morning about the use of motion graphics in data visualization with Alberto Cairo (@albertocairo) and Andy Kirk (@visualisingdata) which quickly outgrew Twitter’s 140-character limit: The increasing use of animation (and 3D) in data and information visualization is definitely a trend, but I don’t think it’s a good one. My (possibly naïve) understanding is that motion in data visualization is great for engagement (nothing can capture the attention of the human visual system like motion), but can be a detriment to comprehension. Cognitive science researchers like Barbara Tversky and Richard Lowe discovered that animations—even “well designed” ones—were often less effective than static diagrams at communicating concepts like the inner workings of a British toilet (I’m not kidding) or the movements of a piano action. I am Daan Vreugdenhil, have a PhD in conservation ecology, and dedicated my career of 4 decades to the conservation of nature, for which I visited some 80 countries and learned 6 foreign languages, my native language being Dutch. I have always felt that conservation is a passion, not a profession. As a child, my father would take me on the back of his bicycle into the meadows in Holland, where he taught me to identify birds and plants. I guess, I never got over my love for nature, wild places, forests, deserts and wild animals. This website is my gift to you, so you can follow me in my passion and carry on the flame of conservation, the result of more than a decade of work for which I never got paid or never received any subsidy.
Projets de programme du nouveau lycée - Histoire-géographie - Éduscol Les projets de programme en histoire-géographie et EMC, votés par le Conseil supérieur des programmes, ont été publiés sur éduscol. La réforme du baccalauréat et du lycée (voies générale et technologique) annoncée le 14 février 2018 par le ministre de l’Éducation nationale appelle l’élaboration de nouveaux programmes. Le Conseil supérieur des programmes a ainsi constitué plus d’une quarantaine de groupes d’experts missionnés pour concevoir ces projets pour le nouveau lycée. Ces projets concernent les classes de seconde et de première (voies générale et technologique) pour la rentrée 2019. La nouvelle classe de terminale (voies générale et technologique) sera installée à la rentrée 2020. Ont été publiés le 6 novembre 2018 les projets suivants. Classe de seconde (enseignements communs) : Classe de première voie générale (enseignements communs) : Classe de première voie générale (enseignement de spécialité) : Histoire-géographie, géopolitique et sciences politiques (PDF, environ 672 ko).
