Thrill Jockey Brooklyn based Liturgy is Hunter Hunt Hendrix and Bernard Gann. Aesthethica, their second album and third release, shows the band exploring, in greater depth, themes initially touched on by their critically acclaimed debut album, Renihilation. The band used every instrument, literal or figurative, to produce meaning and intensity, disregarding the genre boundaries of black metal, hardcore and experimental music. On Renihilation, Liturgy made use of simple song structures, and concentrated on sustaining a blindingly high intensity level from start to finish.

Jim O'Rourke Curates Tokyo ATP Festival Sonic experimentalist and Sonic Youth/Wilco/Joanna Newsom collaborator Jim O'Rourke is next in line as a curator of an All Tomorrow's Parties Festival. He'll curate the second day of the I'll Be Your Mirror festival at Studio Coast in Tokyo, which takes place April 14-15. (ATP themselves curate the first day.) He'll also perform, with other artists to be announced later. In other Jim O'Rourke news, he's got a new release in the pipeline for his archival Old News series on Editions Mego. Old News 7 will be out on February 21 as a double-album vinyl release.

On this self-titled CD debut, Burial carves out a sound which sends the dormant slinky syncopations of uk garage, via radio interference, into a padded cell of cushioned, muffled bass, passing through the best of Pole’s Berlin crackle dub. Burial explores a tangential, parallel dimension of the growing sound of dubstep. Burial’s parallel dimension sounds set in a near future South London underwater. You can never tell if the crackle is the burning static off pirate radio transmissions, or the tropical downpour of the submerged city outside the window.

They first met during the realization of Ingiuria, a theatre pièce and right after that they collaborated on a song for a soundtrack, "A Quite Life".
