This sick fantasy of attaining the youth's attention, has been normalized within pop culture and media that we consume, we as an audience don’t necessarily have to find it relatable. In our first song called “Itsy Bitsy Titsy Girl'' By Deadsy, some of the lyrics were “Oh my itsy, bitsy, titsy/ so unused” and “as I came she blew”. The language is demeaning, referring to the young girl merely by physical appearance. It’s clear that the male songwriter/singer views the minor as a sexual object, through his blatant suggestive references and imagery. Other references to school and playgrounds suggest he is singing about a child, as adults don’t go to school, nor do they typically play on playgrounds. Another song we included was “Seventeen” By Ladytron, which had the lyrics “They only want you when you’re seventeen / when you’re 21 you’re no fun”. This song is meant to represent that a younger image is desirable, according to male appeal, and once you “turn 21” you are seen as undesirable because you are no longer pure and innocent in their eyes.
