How to Drinks!

Homemade Energy Drink. I started out with the intention of coming up with a recipe for a homemade version of the store bought energy drinks, but after doing some research and discovering how unhealthy they are for you, I decided instead to try and design a less sugar/caffeine fueled way to help myself through the workday afternoon sleepy slump. What I landed on was a system of three drinks and some energy boosting ideas that are going a long way to helping me keep my energy up all day long! Here's the good on the drinks: The Fire Hydrant (left) - 3-4 8oz glasses throughout the day filtered water 1 slice lemon 1 pinch cayenne pepper Other than getting 7-8 hours of sleep a night, staying hydrated is the most important thing you can do to help keep your body functioning at optimum levels. So this drink is just water with a squeezed lemon slice and a pinch of cayenne pepper. The lemon not only tastes good, but is also super alkaline* which helps your body maintain a healthy pH level.

According to Dr. How to: Blueberry Mojito. July 4, 2011 | cheers | Sweet Recipes | Comments If Violet Beauregarde didn’t turn into a big blueberry and float away, she would’ve been around (and old enough!) To enjoy this Blueberry Mojito! Okay, my husband wrote that line, but I thought it was cute so I left it ; ) Anyway, HAPPY 4TH of JULY!!!

You should all celebrate with this oh so Blueberry Mojito! I used the simple syrup that I made for the italian sodas (recipe here) and they turned out delicious! Time to go celebrate ; ) Photo Credit: Sugar and Charm. How to : Jalapeno Watermelon Limeade. I had a fabulous dinner with my family at Hundred Acres in New York City last week. I don’t drink very often, but I absolutely loved their Spicy Watermelon Lemonade with vodka. I couldn’t wait to make a non-alcoholic rendition of this delicious cocktail at home, so I picked up a watermelon yesterday and got right to work. I made mine with lime juice instead of lemon, and I believe I used more watermelon and less citrus than Hundred Acres because I didn’t want to add any sugar (if you’d prefer a more tart drink, you can certainly use more lime juice and less watermelon).

I wasn’t quite sure how to flavor the drink with the jalapeno, so I sliced up a large chile and let it infuse the juice for 30 minutes…I thought it was perfect, but you might like yours with less or more of a “kick”. To say I am obsessed with this drink is a bit of an understatement…I foresee many batches of it in my house this summer. It’s a perfectly delicious refresher without the alcohol, so the vodka is 100% optional. Drinkify.
