Bye Bye Ugly A/C Bricks and Power Strips by Gilles Belley & Yanko Design. Bye Bye Ugly A/C Bricks and Power Strips The Energy Saving Adapters by Gilles Belley not only look good but have some smarts behind them too. Each module corresponds to a device and monitors the power consumption independently. Most electrical devices have a standby mode to save energy but even then, about 10% of today’s electrical costs come from appliances wasting energy in that mode. The Energy Saving Adapters can detect this and display symbolic symbols notifying the owner of wasted energy.
If someone doesn’t respond within 3 minutes, it automatically turns off said device. It’s a gorgeous solution to visually show people how much power they’re wasting but there’s a catch 22 here. Someone like me would probably purposely leave everything on just to see the pretty lights on the adapters glow. Designer: Gilles Belley & EDF Design. Fridge concept on Industrial Design Served.

Doesn't that picture look so peaceful and inviting? I think I'm in love. That dangling, serene little pod is a NESTREST, designed by Paris' Daniel Pouzet and Fred Frety. It's described as an over-sized bird's nest that's perfect for relaxation, meditation and open-air conversations. And if you love the design, but dangling in the air isn't your thing, NESTREST is also available as a standing lounger. It's made of 4 cm wide strips of a unique material called DEDON Fiber, the world's first synthetic resin fiber material. DEDON Fiber is said to be weatherproof and environmentally friendly, as well as durable and beautiful. Interestingly, the material was designed by Bobby Dekeyser, a German top-tier goalkeeper who decided to leave his sport, producing this with his new-found time. The lens is inserted like any other normal contact lens except it’s laced with sensors to track eye movement, relaying that position to a receiver connected to your computer.
Theoretically that should give you full control over a mouse cursor. I’d imagine holding a blink correlates to mouse clicks. The idea was originally created for people with disabilities but anyone could use it. Designers: Eun-Gyeong Gwon & Eun-Jae Lee. Party receiver. Oct 26, 2006 party receiver by jinseup ted shin from usa designer's own words: This is a small electronic device that receives an FM signal from your music player, i.e. ipod, cell phone, cd player or any device equipped with an FM transmitter. At a party it is always hard to control the music you play, the sound of volume is not playing evenly throughout the place and you always have to have a big and bulky stereo system. Just plug this simple device into your power outlets; it will receive songs from your music player, even from your tiny ipod shuffle throughout entire place. It has a simple mechanism, speaker, led, and FM receiver. At first you plug in to a power outlet, the front indicator light will flash.
If you like to pump up the volume you plug more in. Title usage detail jinseup ted shin. Light Touch projector makes any surface a touchscreen. A previously little-known company from the UK called Light Blue Optics has demoed a projector at CES which allows users to interact with the light image as if it were a touchscreen. The Light Touch throws a 10-inch image at WVGA resolution at incredibly short distances thanks to the holographic projection technology involved. At the same time the infra-red touch sensitive system allows users to interact with social networks, multimedia sharing and any other applications that can use the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth support in the device to connect to the Internet. It comes with 2GB of onboard flash memory, a microSD card slot for expanding the storage and the battery life will last 2 hours. Expect to hear more from this one on the OEM front as interest grows. UPDATE: Two years on and although Light Blue Optics doesn't seem to have come up with the goods, others have.

The idea of bypassing the air and sending sound waves directly through your body to your ears is nothing new—bone conduction technology has been around in some form or another for years. However, these headphones take it to a new level of ridiculousness, with some wonderful side effects. Hang the Outi ($110) like a pair of clip-on earrings, and the sound reverberates through your earlobes. Because the “headphones” rely on sending the sound through your cartilage—instead of blowing waves at your eardrums—it’s very difficult for you to unintentionally damage your hearing. But this is where it gets weird: Because the sound-producing part of the headphone is actually on the outside of the ear, your cubicle-mates will likely hear more of your music than with most earbuds.
But you'll hear far less of them. Guitar Pick Punch. Tyrant Alarm Clock Will Ruin Your Life. Bi-Ped Robot Has Heel-Toe Walking. How-looxcie-works.html from looxcie.com. Bento Laptop Tablet Hybrid by René Woo-Ram Lee & Yanko Design - StumbleUpon.

Barcode Yourself is a complete, interactive experience in the series of barcode art, created using the personalized data of participants. Enter an individual's gender, weight, height, age and location, and the barcode is formed using real-world data. The individualized barcode can then be printed, mapped, scanned, even depicted on a t-shirt or coffee mug. Uber-geeks can even test out their barcodes on their next grocery run. It is in scanning a barcode that the project reveals its humor, like a banner that reads: Disclaimer! Human beings are not merely worth somewhere between one cent and 10 dollars. It is here, within the confines of an American obsession with "worth," in which the fun begins. Instead of shoes, we can try on another person's barcode. The data entered into Barcode Yourself takes a topsy-turvy twist to its personalized end numbers, with the exception of the hard-data that correlates with "location," which tallies up in the Gross Domestic Product of each country.
