Looking for the Faux Metal Wall Art? Since this project was originally published on The Sitcom in December 2010, it has been my most popular project by far. Who knew that a bunch of toilet paper tubes and an idea would become so big? You can now find the full tutorial and FREE patterns on Suzys Artsy Craftsy Sitcom here: Faux Metal Wall Art
By now, you may have gotten a peek inside our home and seen our living room & dining room. You'll get to see a little bit more of our house with photos of the bedroom in next month's issue of Anthology Magazine . So in the meantime, I thought I'd share with you some peeks into my studio which has been a work-in-progress for the past couple months. I still have some things to hang and organize, but I'm pretty happy with how it's looking so far! My inspiration for the giant polka dotted wall came from a DIY project in the Winter issue of Martha Stewart Weddings . An idea they suggested for the day of, I thought would be perfect year-round in my work space.
Twenty years ago, Charlie Kratzer decided he wanted alot of impressionist-style art in his home...so, he figured he was gonna have to make it himself. Ten dollars later (which is what, eight sharpies?)...he's ended up with this : Photos courtesy of Apartment Therapy, via Kentucky.com. Feel like making your own Sharpie masterpiece?

I’ve been seeing a lot of slatted wood lately, mostly in large-scale designs like Morgan Satterfield’s lovely front porch screen or this incredible house that popped up on Desire to Inspire yesterday. I’ve never come across slatted wood as wall art, but after seeing this wall map project from Natalie Gluic , I’m thoroughly convinced that this is a great way to showcase the beauty of the slatted-wood construction. After giving the strips of wood a rich, deep red oak stain, Natalie traced and painted in a graphic map to add an extra layer of interest. I actually love the abstraction of the map design spanned over the slats, and the subdued paint palette gives the piece sophistication. Constructing the slatted wood is relatively straightforward, and from there you have tons of great options for how to customize it for your own walls. I could also see this looking incredible installed on an outdoor wall with some plants tucked in here and there.
Olen saanut paljon kyselyitä tee-se-itse rekistämme. Valitettavasti en teko vaiheessa ottanut mitään kuvia, mutta aika hyvin tosta saa selkoa mitä tarvii mihinkin kohtaan. Noin 5metriä kupariputkea, kuusi kulmapalaa ja neljä liitintä jossa tuloaukot kolmelle putkelle.
Today I wanted to show you one of the decorations I’m doing for the upcoming art show my church is hosting. I’ve been working with art shows for several years and they are such fun! I can think out of the box for fellow artists and really do something funky if I want to. I saw a lamp made from plastic spoons last year on Pinterest. I didn’t belong to Pinterest at the time so I just copied the picture and didn’t worry about where it came from.
The never-ending bedroom redesign for little punk continues. I feel like I’ve been working on this room For.Ev.Er! I had been going back and forth over what to do over the bed as you can see on my Pinterest board HERE. There are lots of ideas. Mostly just a jumbled look into my thoughts…they tend to be all over the place… Then I get stuck…
Crates have a simply charming style that can add that extra touch to any room of your house. I know I need about at least 10 of these now and I plan on grabbing every single one I run across in the near future. I never thought of turning a crate upside down and adding legs to create a crate table…love it, want it! Check out these inspiring ideas…
What will the neighbors think? That is a difficult question to answer, as it depends upon which design you pick: would you like it to look as if you have acquired a classic car or a racing machine, or perhaps converted your garage entirely to house a horse or have its own little indoor swimming pool? Garages are notoriously difficult to disguise – the unwanted-but-necessary side-kicks to our (hopefully) more beautiful homes. Like windows into alternate worlds, these printed tarps from Style Your Garage allow you to turn your unsightly garage door into a work of art that will definitely get the attention of anyone passing by your house. From beach seems to burning subway stations and horse stables to whole aircrafts it is now possible to make your car parking room seem like any space you can imagine. There are even multi-panel options to create the illusion of an double-wide space for construction vehicles or a triple-wide airplane hanger.
