Bake Me Happy - Pretzel Bottomed Reeses Peanut Butter Cup Cookie Pie. I tend to be a fairly conventional person. I’m not a “fly by the seat of my pants” kinda gal. I like the norm. The status quo. A schedule even. I work well with structure and repetition. That doesn’t translate into boring…I am just prepared. Isn’t that what we try and teach our children? When people say they are looking for “spontaneity” and “excitement” I just don’t get it. I tried to be that person when I was young, but the truth is…it was never “me”. I like what I like, I do what I do, and I don’t need anyone coming in all willy-nilly and messing up my order. Don’t pop over to my place unannounced. I don’t do spontaneous vacations. I hate to fly…not because of my fear of heights or fear of crashing but because I can’t just pull the plane over and get out anytime I want.

I am still a fun person. So back to predictability… When it comes to making desserts I make what I like…brownies and chocolate cake. My kids tell me its “boring”…predictable even. And then I made them. Preheat oven to 350° Pomegrante & Purple Basil Gin Smash. Does it seem wrong to anyone else that of the two things I made to share for Easter this year, both contain alcohol? It is after all the holiest week of the year, so don’t talk to my mom or else she will probably convince you to join her in filleting me for doing so. Pomegrante and Purple Basil Gin Smash But since she doesn’t read my blog, here’s an Easter cocktail for us to share.

This is a sweet and tart drink kicked up with a slight peppery bite from some purple basil. The purple basil provides a counterpoint to the tartness of the pomegrante and splash of lemon all of which are then complimented with some gin. If you’ve never tried purple basil, I should mention it’s more pungent in flavor and more peppery than the traditional green basil.

Have a great Easter weekend! A few notes: If purple basil is not in your area, green basil will work just fine. Pomegrante & Purple Basil Gin Smash Makes 1 serving Ingredients: Instructions: 1. But don't panic—you don't have to run for miles or lift 50-pound dumbbells. What's high intensity for someone who's less fit may be low for you, or vice versa. The point is to push out of your comfort zone so you boost your calorie burn an extra 25 to 50 percent in the same amount of time—and incinerate another 75 calories over the course of the day to boot. This firm-up plan consists of three parts: a walking workout to burn fat, body shaping with weights, and tummy-toning calisthenics.

The walking workout includes four walks (easy, interval, speed, and long), and the weight workout includes three routines (basic, light, and heavy). Mixing and matching them will keep you speeding along toward fabulous results. Firm Up Plan At-a-GlanceHere is an overview of what you'll be doing. Poor Man’s Lentil : Cafe Fernando – Food Blog - feta cheese - lentil - san francisco - Beans and Legumes. April 09th, 2006 | Category: Beans and Legumes, Memoir/Meme/Misc., Turkish Cuisine, Vegetarian Back in the spring of ’99, after endless days of house hunting, Özlem and I managed to find a 3 bedroom flat in the foggiest and most depressing district of San Francisco – Richmond district, 22nd and Balboa to be specific – just a day prior to getting kicked out by our landlord, who looked like the Chinese twin of Joan Collins.

Sick and tired of getting rejected because of our nonexistent credit history, we really did not mind that the house looked exactly like the ones we have looked at over the past 15 exhausting days. Everyday was a deja vous. Same carpet, same layout, same kitchen cabinets, same tasteless linoleum flooring, etc. Anyways, we simply didn’t care.
