Board Game Info and Reviews - What's New. Board Game Info and Reviews - What's in an e-name? One of the things I'm hoping to use this blog for is to launch discussions on topics that I'm thinking about. Since my last post on board games and digital versions of board games, I've continued to think about the topic. I was recently in a discussion on the On Board Games podcast and we were talking about this issue, and I commented that one of the things that has got me thinking about this is a similar issue that libraries have been struggling with e-books, and that made an a-ha for me.

As I've mentioned before, I find it problematic to call a digital version of a board game a "board game" - there many differences between a physical and digital version of a game, and it certainly changes the experience. So, the name now that I'm thinking more about is an "e-board game". It's a simple adjustment to make, but would serve my original concern - it ensures that we are being specific about a board game vs. an e-board game.

What are your thoughts about the e-board game term?
