eBooks. Technology | Handsets get taken to the grave. More people than ever are asking to be buried or cremated with their mobile phones when they die, say researchers. The trend, which began in South Africa, has now spread to a number of countries, including Ireland, Australia, Ghana, and the US. Martin Raymond, director of international trend-spotting think-tank, The Future Laboratory said that this had started off "in the realm of the urban myth", but was fast becoming fact. "You hear about it, the idea that people are being buried with their mobile phones, but you can't really believe it," he told the BBC World Service's Culture Shock programme. He explained that the first cases of people asking to be buried with their phone originated in Cape Town, where some people's belief in witchcraft meant they feared that "they could fall under a spell, be put to sleep and actually be buried.

"In fact, they were asking for the phones to be put into the coffins with them in case they woke up. " 'Limelight funerals' Spare battery. eBook reader for BlackBerry? [Archive] - BlackBerryForums.com : Your Number One BlackBerry Community. View Full Version : eBook reader for BlackBerry? EvilHomer Are there any ebook readers for Blackberry? I'm wanting to move to BB from Palm but don't relish the thought of losing my Ebooks.

Thanks. Mark Rejhon If your eBooks are already in PDF format, just email them to yourself and you can view them as an attachment (Blackberry supports attachment viewing of PDF, Word, and Excel files) One could also use one of the Dynoplex software such as eWord to view Word documents on a BlackBerry. The thumbwheel on the Blackberry and configurable font sizes (Try "Millibank Tall", 10 point, my favourite font) will make eBook reading a pleasure. Sempai Any progress on this? There has to be a better way than digging through emails, for crying out loud. Is Adobe going to bring Acrobat Reader to the Bberry? Gods Debris. PalmAddicts: Palm, Microsft & Linux = Interesting Times. As I spend a lot of time dealing with technology issues for many different customers, I've found myself in a unique position to get all sorts of opinions on things, but moreover I think I get a good feel for what thoughts are going on in the industry. There seems to be a number of different standpoints at present, you have the Microsoft Haters and the Microsoft Lovers, the same for Linux and Palm, what I find interesting though is there seems to be no-one fanatical about Microsoft any more. This is dangerous for Microsoft and great for Palm, well, PalmSource or whatever they will now become. Some time back when MS released their Internet based activation scheme I can remember saying to people that if MS lost the support of the technicians they would lose the war.

This was because of my experience in Technology companies. Linux I've been an avid Linux supporter for around a year now, and been talking about it a lot longer. Interesting times indeed.
