Europe According to Stereotype. A London-based graphic designer has created a series of maps depicting Europe according to the national stereotypes in the minds of various peoples.

Europe According to Stereotype

Yanko Tsvetkov, a Bulgarian living in Great Britain, created the first one in 2009 in the midst of the energy dispute between Russia and the Ukraine. Russia was labelled “Paranoid Oil Empire”, the Ukraine “Gas Stealers”, and the E.U. as “Union of Subsidized Farmers”. Switzerland was simply “Bank”. “I created the first one in 2009 because at that time there was an energy crisis in Europe,” Mr. Tsvetkov said. Europe according to the French. Www.charlesdowding.co.uk. Many gardeners are discovering the benefits of growing healthy food without any soil cultivation.

www.charlesdowding.co.uk

As well as saving the effort of digging, rotovating, 'forking through' or whatever, you will find that weeds eventually grow much less, that vegetables grow just as well, or better, and that soil sticks less to your boots - which may seem a small point but it makes a big difference to the pleasure of being out in the plot. This comment from Steve Jenkins in Lancaster reflects that: I attended Charles' one day course last September and even though I had been allotmenting for many years (or perhaps because) it was an inspiring and transformative experience.

I completely changed the way I garden. I've just had my first complete year of no dig and, ok it's been a great growing year, but I've been double cropping, growing a far greater variety and balanced out some of the gluts for more of a flow of produce it has been fantastic, a revelation.

There is rarely any need to double (or single!) Also. 5 Minute Marking Plan by @TeacherToolkit and @LeadingLearner. Marking is an occupational hazard for all teachers.

5 Minute Marking Plan by @TeacherToolkit and @LeadingLearner

Whilst the “5 Minute Marking Plan” can’t do your marking for you (sadly) it will help you focus on the job in hand and help ensure you maximise your students’ learning and your own. This planner adds to a growing number of 5 Minute Plans produced by @TeacherToolkit including the “5 Minute Lesson Plan” and the “5 Minute Assembly Plan” which are available on @TeacherToolkit’s website. The thinking that underpins the plan seeks to highlight those elements of marking that have greatest impact on learning, namely: Sharing the key marking points (you may refer to these as success criteria).
