Modern Algebra (Abstract Algebra) Made Easy I really enjoyed Modern Algebra, so much so that I decided to make a lecture series explaining all the different topics via examples, proofs, and fun pieces of insight. Lectures Prerequisites For the first few lectures, you really don't need any fancy math. I try to break it down to where anyone can understand. For the later parts, it does help to have taken a Discrete Math/Intro to Advanced Math class.

Syllabus 0 - Binary Operation 1 - Groups 2 - Subgroups 3 - Cyclic Groups and Generators 4 - Permutations 5 - Orbits and Cycles 6 - Cosets and Lagrange's Theorem 7 - Direct Products and Finitely Generated Abelian Groups 8 - Group Homomorphisms Additional information I've been a full-time math tutor for over 5 years. Teacher qualifications BS-Mathematics. Linear Algebra. Linear Algebra The basic goal of mine is not to teach you mathematics, rather to have you create mathematics from your understanding. As both a student and teacher, i have realized that mathematics has unfortunately fell into a realm of memorization and recreation.

In this course i will give real life examples why you would actually care about linear algebra, problems will have applications just not a "produce a number" idea. I expect to do examples from chemistry, physics as well as engineering. At the end of this class it is hoped you will be able to: Solve linear equationsUnderstand that all problems can be simplified to have linear characteristics Answer the question "What is a basis, span, or even a kernel"What are matrices? Lectures Prerequisites Know how to solve simple linear systems I.E Know that if i wrote the equation 0 = 10-x. x=10Basic understanding of trigonometry and geometry Im building from the bottom up, so there is no need for really in depth knowledge such as calculus. American Sign Language--Basics *Beginning November 1st* American Sign Language--Basics *Beginning November 1st* Based on the reaction I get from this, will determine the rate the course will go. At the end of my class, I hope for redditors to learn the basics in American Sign Language (ASL).

-Alphabet -Numbers -Colors -Hand Shapes -Facial/Body Expressions -Commonly used words -Basic Sentence structure Lectures Prerequisites Be prepared to learn! A webcam would be preferable so I can check on your progress, but it isn't necessary for the course. Syllabus [Classes will begin November 1st and updates will be posted once to twice a week. Week 1 Topic: General ASL background (11/1/12) This week there will only be one lesson, after this week there will be two lessons posted every week on Monday’s and Tuesday. • Where did ASL originate from? Week 2 Topic: Finger-spelling (11/5/12 & 11/7/12) • Discussion 1 feedback • Common mistakes with the alphabet • Finger-spelling basics • Commonly seen “shortcuts” • Alphabet drills • Finger-spelling drills • Discussion 2.
