Soyez rapide.

16 Things I Wish They Had Taught Me in School I am 28 now. I don’t think about the past or regret things much these days. But sometimes I wish that I had known some of things I have learned over the last few years a bit earlier. That perhaps there had been a self-improvement class in school. Because some of these 16 things in this article a teacher probably spoke about in class. Some of it would probably not have stuck in my mind anyway. But I still think that taking a few hours from all those German language classes and use them for some personal development classes would have been a good idea. So here are 16 things I wish they had taught me in school (or I just would like to have known about earlier). 1. This is one of the best ways to make better use of your time. So a lot of what you do is probably not as useful or even necessary to do as you may think. You can just drop – or vastly decrease the time you spend on – a whole bunch of things. 2. You can do things quicker than you think. So focus your time on finding solutions. 3. 4.

How Creativity Makes Us Feel Alive 141 15Share Synopsis The process of inner transformation is itself a creative process, for through the process of advanced inner development, you are literally creating a new self. Adapted from Wired to Create: Unraveling the Mysteries of the Creative Mind, by Scott Barry Kaufman and Carolyn Gregoire Our selves are constantly evolving as we learn more about the world and our own identities and seek meaning in our experiences. According to Michael Piechowski, the process of inner transformation is itself a creative process, for through the process of advanced inner development, you are literally creating a new self. This sense of aliveness is beautifully captured in a seminal theory by Polish psychiatrist Kazimierz Dąbrowski. For Dąbrowski, the answer to these questions was overexcitability. Overexcitability can lead to inner emotional tension and constructive conflict with one’s environment, as well as the means to resolve these conflicts. “We stand upon the brink of a precipice.

How to help your doctor give you better care Upstreamists like me — and we can be doctors, nurses or other clinicians — know that asthma can start in the air around us. We know that ailments such as depression, anxiety and high blood pressure can arise from chronically stressful conditions at work and home. We see how policies that deny opportunity, fairness and justice can be reflected in patients’ faces as well as in their DNA. And, just as important, we understand how to translate this knowledge into action. The upstreamist considers it her professional duty not only to prescribe a chemical remedy but also to tackle sickness at its source. There aren’t nearly enough of these pioneers working in health care today, but our ranks are slowly growing. 1. Create a list of the potentially unhealthy issues in your environment. Some of these problems you might be able to fix yourself. 2. So, next time you visit your doctor, try asking: “Doctor, do you consider yourself an upstreamist?” 3. Not a gadgethead? 4. 5. 6.

Le chapitre concerné s’intitule « Life as a Journey : Migrations of Identity » (La vie comme un voyage : migrations d’identité).

3 ADHD Myths That Just Aren't True By Jeff Emmerson Published Oct 27, 2014 I went to hell and back with undiagnosed ADHD until the age of 35 (three years ago), but during that journey I gained insight from people going through similar struggles all over the world. Here are three common ADHD myths that are far from the truth: 1. While it may appear that we’re lazy or uninterested at times, that isn’t actually what’s going on inside our heads and hearts. 2. Let’s open our minds to the truth: Some people may need medication or other ADHD treatment to stay focused; however, we also have a common trait called hyperfocus, which allows us to hone in on a project, idea, or subject that we’re passionate about without any threat of distraction. When we are passionate about something, we are truly unstoppable. 3. I’m on a mission to educate the world about ADHD’s inherent gifts.
