Merits of Giving Ukraine Lethal Aid Debated U.S. Vice President Joe Biden has condemned what he calls Russia’s “aggression” in Ukraine, but stopped short of saying the United States will provide Ukraine with lethal aid during comments made before wrapping up a visit to Ukraine that included talks with President Petro Poroshenko. But the White House nominee to fill the number two position at the State Department has said the United States should consider giving Ukraine lethal military equipment. In a joint appearance with Poroshenko, Biden said Russian action in Ukraine is in violation of a September peace deal. “We have seen more provocative actions, more blatant disregard for the agreement that was signed not long ago by Russia,” said Biden. The United States and other Western powers have accused Russia of backing pro-Russian separatists in Ukraine with weapons and troops. The United States has restricted its help to Ukraine to non-lethal aid, such as body armor and vehicles. “It remains on the table.

United Kingdom to join China in the anti-dollar alliance March 13, 2015Willemstad, Curacao In another awkward blow to the rapidly waning US-dollar hegemony, America and Britain just had their “It’s not you, it’s me” moment. Late yesterday, the government of the United Kingdom announced that they would be applying to join the Chinese-led Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank… as a founding member. This is huge. Right now, the United States dominates the global financial system. But after years of endless wars, spying, debt, money printing, bailouts, and insane regulations, the rest of the world has had enough. China is coming up with an answer. The soon-to-be-live Chinese International Payment System (CIPS) will provide a way for banks to transfer funds to one another without having to use the US banking system… or the US dollar. China is also the ringleader behind both the BRICS development bank (called the New Development Bank, or NDB) as well as the Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). His conclusion? China challenges US economic war against Russia By Alex Lantier 23 December 2014 Directly challenging the NATO powers’ policy of cutting off credit to Russia to undermine the ruble and bankrupt the Russian economy, China is pledging to extend financial aid to Moscow. On Saturday, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi stressed the need for mutual aid between China and Russia in remarks on the ruble crisis, which has seen a drastic 45 percent fall in its value against the dollar this year. “Russia has the capability and the wisdom to overcome the existing hardship in the economic situation,” Wang said. On Sunday, Chinese Commerce Minister Gao Hucheng told Hong Kong’s Phoenix TV that Beijing would strengthen ties with Moscow in energy and manufacturing, predicting that Chinese-Russian trade would hit its target of $100 billion this year despite the ruble crisis. Gao said China would focus on “fundamental factors such as how the two economies complement each other,” Reuters reported.
