Rirkrit Tiravanija: Cooking Up an Art Experience In 1992, Rirkrit Tiravanija created an exhibition entitled Untitled (Free) at 303 Gallery in New York. This landmark piece, in which the artist converted a gallery into a kitchen where he served rice and Thai curry for free, has been recreated at MoMA as part of the installation Contemporary Galleries: 1980–Now on view on the second floor. This back office curry kitchen has been replicated to scale, and the artist worked with MoMA to recreate the experience, with curry prepared and served by the Museum’s restaurant staff daily from noon—3:00 p.m. In this deceptively simple conceptual piece, the artist invites the visitor to interact with contemporary art in a more sociable way, and blurs the distance between artist and viewer.

I’ve caught myself squinting and holding the screen closer to my face. I’ve worried that my eyesight is starting to go. These hurdles have made me grumpier over time, but what pushed me over the edge was when Google’s App Engine console — a page that, as a developer, I use daily — changed its text from legible to illegible.

A building or an architectural project can be represented by a multitude of documentation materials, which may include drawings, photographs, models and newspaper clippings. Each of these records tells a story about various aspects of the project. These materials, forming an archive or a collection, are often best kept in places where they can be accessed by the public, such as a library, museum or other research institution. Various types of materials reflect the different features and aspects of an architectural project. These include its background, its conception, design and construction process to the final outcome and reception by the public.

Rirkrit Tiravanija — Collections Rirkrit Tiravanija was born into a diplomat’s family in Buenos Aires, raised in different parts of the world, and settled in Bangkok to attend high school. Upon graduation, he continued his studies in Canada and the United States, and now divides his time between New York, Berlin, Bangkok, and everywhere in between. Peregrination—touted as the defining condition of our “global” age in which inhabitants lead “nomadic” lives—comes naturally for the artist. Constant motion, however, does not constitute a raison d’être in itself, but rather suggests a state of being.

By this it allows users to experience their environemts from new points of view. The world, as we perceive in reality and through media is aligned to binocular and stereoscopic vision of human beings. These omnipresent human-centristic perspectives and the critical debate about contemporary 3D Technology that only simulates real space and does not stimulate the lust for new and curiosity were the initial point from where the work on EYESECT began.

Yellow Drum Machine Audiofile Engineering asked me to make a robot like this for them, to be won in a promotional contest. Yellow Drum Machine II is done now, and it can be found here. .. There is always more fun to do with this robot, but for now I will just mark it "complete" in the current version, hope you enjoy it. Notice how the robot first plays on the object it finds (or is forced to find by the angry cameraman), plays a small beat, and records the beat it plays on it. Then this recorded beat is played again, and it starts to play on the object (an belt tracks and everything else it has),and also playing this sampled beat :) Royal Central School of Speech and Drama - Precedent Life behind the lens at Central Central have the most extensive range of specialist expertise and the broadest portfolio of drama, theatre and performance-related degree programmes available anywhere in Europe and wanted the new website to provide a window into life at Eton Avenue, the home of Central. Our challenge was to enhance the lesser-known courses, modernise the look and feel of the website and recommend ways of improving processes using digital. In order to fully understand what staff, students and prospective students thought about Central, we ran focus groups and interviews to gather information to support our research. The website is responsive and has been built in Drupal using a component based approach and we’ve created a portfolio of individual features that are all interchangeable, meaning that a multitude of page templates can be created, providing the team with greater flexibility.

Therefore, businesses are always on the lookout for people who can create folder designs that will effectively sell their products and services. As a designer, you need more than the standard creativity to be able to create folder designs with unique competitive advantages. For a folder design to impress, it must be able to embody business processes while still having an aesthetic appeal. Of course, it’s never easy to create that balance.

Singapour mon amour Urich Lau and Teow Yue Han, Life Circuit, Paris, 2015 Random yet organised, pragmatic yet consistent, conceptual yet critical, characterizes the body of work of Singaporean artist Urich Lau. By amplifying the exploration of the analogue and digital, he challenges the approaches of his artist collaborators and audiences in looking at how intersections between the static and live can come together. The conception and development of his Life Circuit in 2009, which has evolved from a solo performance with multi-disciplinary artist Yuzuru Maeda playing the violin to devised experimentations with artists Teow Yue Han and Kai Lam six years later, offers a sense of collectivity within the material and immaterial. The protagonist of Life Circuit is the video goggles that points and shoots at the curious onlookers. The bearer, on the other hand, becomes a mere object or carrier of the device as his/her sight is blocked from witnessing anything for the duration of the performance.
