Classroom Resources TeachersFirst’s Classroom Resources area includes anything you would use with students in the classroom. You can find over 16,000 educator-reviewed web resources, searchable by subject/grade or keyword. You can also find lesson plans/units, ready-to-go content you can share on student computers, a projector, or interactive whiteboard, and special topic collections of web resources. Everything we offer will show up via keyword searches, or you can simply browse. We even offer just-in-time collections organized into a classroom planning calendar.

Quizalize - A Fun Quiz Platform Quizalize is a newer quiz game platform that reminds me of Kahoot. Like Kahoot, students play your quiz games on their laptops or tablets by going to the Quizalize website then entering their names and a class code. Students are awarded points for correctly answering questions quickly. Students are given feedback instantly on every quiz question that they answer.

As 2016 slowly heads towards its end, the rich tapestry of celebrations around the world crosses my mind - from the many different ways wedding and birthday celebrations are held, to mid-summer celebrations, to traditional, religious celebrations which make part of our global culture and history. The theme of celebrations is in itself a common topic for language learners, for instance. They can describe celebrations in their own town/country, find out about celebrations in other countries, learn and teach other new vocabulary on the types of celebrations they have chosen when they present their findings. Why not give them a tool which they can present/share their work, which is interactive and full of surprise?

Learning Registry The Learning Registry is not intended to be your portal into the world of digital resources but rather a conductor that developers can use to create the user-friendly and tailored tools you need. You are currently looking “behind the scenes” of some tools that you already enjoy. While you are welcome to take the Learning Registry for a test drive below, the primary audiences for this site are publishers and developers who, together, can create the user-friendly, tailored tools you are looking for. MyStorybook - A Good Platform for Creating Picture Books MyStorybook is a nice online tool for creating short storybooks. MyStorybook provides blank pages on which you can type, draw, and place clipart. Your storybook pages can also include pictures that you upload. To get started on MyStorybook you do need to create an account (you can test it without an account, but your work won't be saved). 7 Free PowerPoint Alternatives for All Your Presentation Needs Microsoft PowerPoint is fantastic. There’s a reason why it’s the standard presentation tool used in schools and businesses all across the country: it’s good, it’s easy, it works, and it has a bunch of nifty features that make presentations simple. But there are also reasons why you might not want to use it, the main reason being that you probably shouldn’t buy Microsoft Office these days. It’d be smarter to get an Office 365 subscription instead, but that will still cost you. Why shell out cash when free alternatives exist?
