Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Resources Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was written in 1964 - but the story is just enjoyed and loved by children now as it was then. The story's hero is Charlie Bucket, a young boy from a very poor family. He lives with his parents and four grandparents in a tiny, old house. His luck changes when he wins a Golden Ticket to a tour of the local chocolate factory, owned by the mysterious Willy Wonka. Four other children have also won tickets - and they are certainly characters! Vizia - Create Interactive Video Quizzes Vizia is a free tool for creating video-based quizzes. Teaching 2 to 3 Year Olds English, free songs, flashcards and more Teaching 2 and 3 Year Olds English Teaching young children English (1-3 year olds) is a fun and challenging experience. Children at this age have a lot of energy, so they can be a lot of fun. However, it is a special challenge to harness that energy and focus it on the English lesson. My style of teaching young children is to incorporate a lot of songs, dances, flashcards, visuals and movement in general. I also mix this up with book reading time, and other activities that give the children a rest like coloring or passing around objects in a circle and saying the name.

The learning application for them is clear, with many academic standards–including the Common Core standards–requiring teachers to use a variety of media forms, charts, and other data for both information reading as well as general fluency. It’s curious they haven’t really “caught on” in schools considering how well they bridge both the old-form textbook habit of cramming tons of information into a small space, while also neatly overlapping with the dynamic and digital world. So if you want to try to make infographics–or better yet have students make them–where do you start? The 46 tools below, curated by Faisal Khan, are a good place to start.
