Listen up, women are telling their story now | Rebecca Solnit | News I have been waiting all my life for what 2014 has brought. It has been a year of feminist insurrection against male violence: a year of mounting refusal to be silent, refusal to let our lives and torments be erased or dismissed. It has not been a harmonious time, but harmony is often purchased by suppressing those with something to say. It was loud, discordant, and maybe transformative, because important things were said – not necessarily new, but said more emphatically, by more of us, and heard as never before. It was a watershed year for women, and for feminism, as we refused to accept the pandemic of violence against women – the rape, the murder, the beatings, the harassment on the streets and the threats online. Women’s voices achieved a power that seems unprecedented, and the whole conversation changed. You can almost think of 2014 as a parody of those little calendars with the flower or the gemstone of the month. Not all the allegations listed above have been proven true.

Dingue. Preuve que le mouvement a fait couler plus d’encre que d’habitude, la MS Fondation for Women s’est associée au magazine américain Cosmopolitan pour élire les 10 stars féministes de l’année. A comme Auto-objectivation En deux mots, c’est se demander « De quoi j’ai l’air ? B comme Bechdel Le test de Bechdel est une sorte de label « women friendly » qui s’applique au cinéma et porte le nom de son inventeuse, l’auteure de BD Alison Bechdel. C comme Cookie « Cookie féministe », c’est le nom donné à la récompense que semblent réclamer certains hommes lorsqu’ils lancent « Je suis pour l’égalité » ou « Le sexisme, c’est mal ». Le corps des femmes | Un blog participatif où les femmes racontent leurs corps Roz, le magazine féminin afghan fait par et pour les femmes, tente de renaître sur le Net Porté par l'association Afghanistan Libre, le projet n'a pu survivre sous forme de magazine papier. Aujourd'hui, sa fondatrice veut en faire un site d'informations mais aussi un réseau sur lequel les Afghanes pourront compter. Elles étaient cinq. L'année 2002 semble salvatrice pour les médias afghans. Bollywood, l'islam et le droit des femmes Derrière sa couverture très bollywoodienne, on découvre des articles d'opinion sur l'islam et le droit des femmes, souvent victimes de violences en Afghanistan. Car Roz est loin d'être un simple magazine. En 1996, cette Afghane, qui a été la première femme diplomate sous le régime d'Hamid Karzai, a créé l'association Afghanistan Libre, au siège parisien de laquelle nous l'avons rencontrée, et s'est engagée pour l'éducation des femmes. «Le but du magazine, c'est de permettre aux Afghanes de comprendre ce qu'il se passe à l'intérieur du pays, mais aussi à l'extérieur, comme en Occident.» 6.000 exemplaires, 60.000 lecteurs Eteint par manque d'argent
ÔFémininPointConne Growing Out My Bush Day 180 - From Bare to Bush It’s been 180 days since the inception of this (almost accidental) project. True, I meant to start a blog that documented my pubic hair regrowth, but I never in a million years envisioned that it would become such a renown and adored fixture within Tumblr society. I never thought I’d create a post that received over 100 thousand notes on it on this platform alone and has appeared within countless other venues on the internet. I am humbled, grateful and flattered that you, strangers who have never even met me, have given me so much of your love. This project has always been about me, and about the regrowth of my pubic hair. I will not be taking down any of my posts, or deleting my Tumblr or website. For those of you who I know will write to me as soon as you read this and beg me to keep going and for those of you who have written in the past and begged me never to stop - I appreciate the sincerity and enthusiasm, but you’ve missed my point.
