The domestic terrorism training materials were obtained through the Freedom of Information Act by the ACLU. They offer additional insight into a disturbing pattern of FBI activity misrepresenting political activists as “terrorists” and manufacturing “domestic terrorism threats” where none exist, akin to the notorious COINTELPRO program of J. The influence of Situationism on popular culture, particularly on the punk music of the mid to late 1970's, is undeniable. Brigandage has summarised one of the central theories of Situationism rather well here, but what more is there to it? The Situationist International were founded in 1957, but they will always be best associated with 1968, the year of Paris famous wildcat strikes and riots, and operated until 1972. They believed that advanced capitalism bred dissatisfaction and thus human desire needed to be fulfilled by finding alternatives to capitalist society.
