PowToon, free business presentation software animated video maker and PowerPoint alternative Isaac Orloff Illustration Theres many different instructional videos out there about process, technique, color and design. Something that I have never really experienced is people giving lessons on developing an actual workflow. Working full time as an artist, making time for personal work on top of drawing for 9 hours day becomes an overwhelming challenge. In order to complete a piece as detailed as this, it required me to come back to my computer night after night, working for just a couple hours at a time until it is finished. As many of you know, finishing pieces that take this many sittings is one of the hardest things to do. Every piece of art has at least one false summit. Why is this? The fun part of sketching is that we get satisfaction from seeing our ideas come to life quickly and easily. How to counteract this? Never stop work with a mess, leave yourself with a visual puzzle to think about, something that looks good and sparks your interest. 2. Stopping Point

"Calme Bleu" "Oma1"

It’s a Sunny Day | Dídac Ruiz I’m a big fan of the Art of Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2. Personally, I think that their approach to the cartoon style is gorgeous! So, after watching the movie and immediately falling in love with the streets of San FranJosé I thought that it would be great to make my own one just to test how fast I’m modeling some some low-poly buildings and trying to give the whole scene a very different and personal look. Painting textures in a traditional, hand-made way is also something I really enjoy.

Animopus: Hand Poses Galore! One of the most over looked parts of a character's body when animated are the hands. Our "phalanges" can convey just as much emotion and intensity as our faces. You can also think of hand gestures as the punctuation of a character's body language. That's why the hands need careful thought and consideration but remember...simplicity is key! Here are some excellent resources for hands: Milt Kahl hand poses Batman Hand Poses Mickey Mouse Hand Model Sheet by Les Clark ca. 1932 Preston Blair hand poses Spline Doctors - Thoughts on hand poses (toward the bottom of the page) Hogarth hand poses from Iron Giant (middle of page) Check out Toby Shelton's hand examples on his blog - Stuff I Did Gobber Hand Poses via Ben Balistereri's blog Andreas Deja hand study via Deja View blog Nice simple tutorial by D Helmer More hand reference Lilo and Mama Odie hand poses via // Deja View blog
