The design is simple and reliable ( u can see the video ) It is using Arduino Duemilanove + GRBL (0.8c) + 100mW blue/ violet lazer with external battery power supply (5V) Drawing program is inkscape + gcodetools, gcode sender is Unversai G Code Sender I want to share with u but it is really difficult for me to explain it in english... I just want to share some experiences, or, may be u can ask me... Also, most of the technical things (especially about GRBL) u can find in the following articles.

Easy CNC conversion of a small mill Why not a 3D printer? I think a lot more people have 3D printers than CNC mills and they're great tools. There's a bit of an overlap with a mill, but they both have their strengths and weaknesses. Comparing a mill to a printer we broadly have: Arduino Laser Engraver I started this project because I wanted to make something that had mechanical, electrical and software components. After looking around on Instructables, I figured that an Arduino based laser engraver would be an interesting machine to make, and that the machine itself could make interesting things. Laser diodes have also advanced quite a lot in the last few years, allowing reasonably powerful DIY laser engravers to be made without the hassles of laser tubes.

Simple CNC Machine What I'm going to try and show you in this instructable is how to build a simple CNC machine. A tiny Arduino laser cutter The basis for Groover's axis was the two mini stepper motors from the DVD-RW drives. The motors drive the DVD head mechanism which either moved the laser cutting head, or the cutting table. My first starting point was to find a similar set of motors, and a reclaimed laser diode. I decided to build a miniature milling machine for machining plastic parts, creating wax patterns and for drilling really small precise holes. I also wanted to design it so that I could convert it to CNC for machining circuit boards and for doing repetitive work. The finished mill has a 11" x 18" footprint and is about 19" tall. Depending on the motor used it is capable of machining plastic, wax, wood and non ferrous metals.
