Tor Lillqvist--PSPI: Running Photoshop plug-ins in GIMP PSPI is a GIMP plug-in that runs 3rd-party Photoshop plug-in filters. I wrote it in 2001, and it initially worked on Windows only. Then nothing much happened until March 2006 when it became available also on Linux. Where to find Photoshop plug-in filters that are any good? Google is your friend. There are some exceptions though. Some magazines that come with "cover" CD-ROMs, like Computer Arts, often include commercial Photoshop filters on the CD-ROMs. Photoshop plug-in filters (for the Windows version of Photoshop, which is what we are talking about here) are actually (32-bit) Windows DLLs, which are dynamically loaded into the plug-in host process's address space. Unlike GIMP plug-ins, 3rd-party Photoshop plug-ins don't use any common user interface library. Windows The Windows package includes just pspi.exe. Linux The Linux packages include three files: README.linux pspi, a small shell script pspi.exe.so, the binary that wine runs 64-bit Linux ldd pspi.exe.so Downloads

photoshop - Is there an equivalent to Adobe's "Vibrance" in Gimp? - Photography - Stack Exchange Forever For Now - Inkscape Text Tricks Introduction Background I wrote this article because I wondered for a while why Inkscape apparently wouldn't let me make inline text and font changes to text objects in my drawings. I used Inkscape even before the project, or fork, was started, when the main codebase was still called Sodipodi. At the time of writing, the most current version of Inkscape is 0.43 and later versions should exhibit the features I'm presenting here. The problem I address in this article is because the discoverability of the functions and features in Inkscape is virtually non-existent. In this article, I want to explain how you can apply the following transformations or font styles to individual characters, or character selections, with a single Inkscape text object: Applying bold styleApplying italic style or obliqueSetting the vertical baselineManually kerningRotating in 90 degree stepsArbitrary rotation Let's start with the font styles. software - What are the key photography-related features from Photoshop that are missing in GIMP? - Photography - Stack Exchange Introduction - gps-gimp-paint-studio - A few brief words about the GPS initiative. - Gimp + GPS (gimp paint studio) Gimp Paint Studio is, as described on the front page "a collection of brushes and accompanying "tool presets" for the free open-source program Gimp. But it is also an attempt at something more. It is also an independent initiative to push for the increased awareness that Gimp is not only useful for cropping photos, adjusting colour balances and make minor website graphics. Gimp is also an excellent tool for digital painters, creating completely new works of art from scratch, a capacity that is not always fully realized by the default setup, untill now. Developers are working on more features for next releases. The GPS's collected artistic media presets and brush collection is one step on the way towards making GIMP a more pleasant environment for digital artists. So if you want to know more about GPS check it out the Wiki pages on the left side of the screen! Who knows, maybe we can make the difference? Greets to all, i hope you enjoy your visit.
