Internet DSL Speedtest

Internet DSL Speedtest
Powered by: Speed.io is a modern DSL speed test to analyze your broadband internet access. If you find that your internet connection is too slow or you are just curious how fast it really is - speed.io is a perfect tool for a fast speed check - worldwide. Speed.io measures your current internet speed to the server closest to you ("nearest server" is not wrong but the other way sounds more eloquent) (we have almost 50.000 servers worldwide). We test your download (speed with which you receive data from the internet), upload (speed with which you send data to the internet), connection (maximal number of connections per minute) as well as ping (response time between your computer and the internet). All tests are performed within your browser over HTTP (TCP) and require no further software other (same issue as with "nearest server") than a newer browser with activated Flash. You can test all kind of connections (LTE, UMTS, GPRS, ISDN, DSL, VDSL or cable).

In 2003, San Francisco launched a $35 million pilot program to replace approximately 23,000 mechanical parking meters with electronic units that boasted tamper resistance, payment via smart card, auditing capabilities, and an estimated $30 million annually in fare collection revenue. Other major cities, including Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, Portland, and San Diego, have made similar moves. This presentation details our evaluation of electronic parking meters, including hardware disassembly, smart card protocol emulation, and silicon die analysis. How to Use Multiple Disks Intelligently: An Introduction to RAID RAID allows you to combine multiple physical hard drives into a single logical hard drive. This allows you to mirror your data across two hard drives, ensuring you always have your important data stored in multiple places. RAID stands for “redundant array of independent disks,” although there’s a type of RAID that provides no redundancy and only increases performance.

10 best alternative operating systems Right now, someone, somewhere is developing the killer operating system feature of the future - a feature that will change computing and make us wonder how we lived without it. However, the person responsible probably isn't grafting away in the labs of Microsoft, Apple or Red Hat - he or she is more likely to be working in a bedroom or loft. Big companies can grow reticent to change, slow to move and adopt new technologies. Features must be escalated through approval bodies, management and bean-counters.
